how about it?
I'm gonna get one I guess. Since I'm gonna get the case anyway, I might as well get this one.
I'm sure this is a premium accessory & will provide sufficient protection in most situations,not to mention it's a looker,but I feel compelled to add my 2 cents in here:
I'd hold off on this,unless you've used this form factor on previous phones & like it.
Even then,this phone has a slightly curved back & w/almost certainty,will not rest in-hand comfortably when folded back.
Some carriers may even have display models w/it installed (a la VZW & the M8 w/the LITE BRITE case),giving an opportunity to test drive.
I have one that I got for the G2 & used it a grand total of 2 times before it found its place in the misfit/unloved accessory drawer of my nightstand,pretty much for the same reasons as stated above.
I normally wouldn't post such a strong caution on any item,to each their own,however,I'd hate to see anyone spend a relatively large amont of $ on an accessory to have a similar outcome.
There's lots of cases for sale on AMAZON & e-Bay already,some w/definite pre-order dates & others already shipping.I've got a $5.00 Black TPU Case on the way,shipped this A.M.,ETA 6/5/14.
);You are absolutely correct, thanks.
I will surely test-drive it. And yes, it will be no less than $50.
Pluses for me:
wireless charging w/o taking off;
available in gold (I wanted gold G3, but damn Sprint got it);
adds value if and when I am going to sell it;
Minuses:
upfront cost.
Meantime, ordered clear TPU case for $6. Case is necessary imo.
This case does have an advantage over the similar OEM case for the G2:
It fits in place of the battery cover,instead of over it.Hopefully this translates to a decent feel-in-hand.

Does it open in pocket at all, waking up the phone?
Is it possible to remove the cover if I don't like it? I want wireless charging, but not sure if I want the cover.
Umm, just use the original battery cover?
You mean remove the flip part and just leave the back?
Would be easy enough. Would just lose side protection on the hinge side of the phone.Yeah.
No wireless charging that way.
Of course the original cover does wireless charging, it's the proximity between battery and charger that matter and that's why the clip-on doesn't work. At least that's what they say at LG.
The US version doesn't have a wireless charging original cover. So far only option to so that is Quick Circle case.
I'm going to cannibalize a Korean quick circle I have. Right now it does nothing because none of the pins line up. Think I'll peel it off and adjust it so the qi pins line up.I've got a couple of these (not this exact seller/model):
Type A Micro USB Qi Wireless Universal Charger Tag Receiver Coil for LG G2 New | eBay
That I'll check out on my G3 before the end of the day.
These are not the most desireable option,but,at least I'll be able to confirm whether wireless charging is enabled or not.
I wouldn't mind the tags similar to what's available for SAMSUNG devices:
Qi Standard Wireless Charging Pad Receiver Tag for Samsung Galaxy S5 I9600 Effu | eBay
It'll be just a matter of time before these start popping up for the G3.
