Root Quick noob kernel question

Regarding any kind of custom kernel, whether your looking for performance or battery life, if you leave the settings at default after flashing the kernel will the overall quality be better than stock HTC kernel? Or the same?

Off topic but when wiping battery stats and recalibrating, on the step where you charge uninterrupted I'm a little confused. Uninterrupted as in don't unplug till fully charged? Or uninterrupted as in don't use the phone until fully charged? Thanks

Technically better than stock but for some reasons some evos act up with custom kernels.... I started with caulkins kernels and now I'm on an aosp rom and I'm running savage Zen havs more along with vipers -25 undervolting script.... I'm getting about 28 hrs of batt life with moderate to heavy use....

Your phone is the determining factor with kernels. Each phone will react differently to every kernel +/-. Some phones take HAVSmore really well, some can only take HAVS, some can't take HAVS at all. It depends on the temperment of your phone.

As an example, I flashed the Destroyer ROM, and it destroyed my battery. :) 3-4 hours tops.

Also uninterrupted I believe means don't unplug it however not touching it at all is best because you don't want to introduce parasitic load while is trying to charge. it affects how it tells when its charged if there is constantly a load using the battery.

Would turning airplane mode on till fully charged be necessary? Or is simply not using the phone good enough ?

You would be best to charge it while off preferably with a USB. But is all up to you. Yes radio off is better than on but it's not always convenient.
