Help Quick question about rooting from a noobish newbie

Very simple question. I have a Samsung Prevail that cannot be one click rooted because its 2.2.2...

Now I know you can use Odin to root your phone, but what I wanna know is if it will erase things like the MSID, MEID? do I have to reactivate the phone to boost?

You can still use OneClickRoot from the all things root section.

Just as a FYI all of the prevails are android version 2.2.2
