Quick question about the screen..

I''ve just bought my HD, I love it, apart from one little thing..
On the sides of the device, they seem to come out a further than the screen does, so the screen is actually embedded into the device a bit instead of being completely flat.. Is this normal?

I thought the HD had a completely flat front, not like: |__|... (only by like 0.5mm, but when I flick through the screens, i hit the sides and they feel very tacky and cheap..)

Yeah it means you can put the phone upside down (to silence it) without grit on the desk scratching the screen
