Root Quick question regarding renaming NANDroids...

I have 7 NANDroids in the original "year-month-day.hour.minute.second" format. Just because it would totally streamline my life, I want to rename them (using Rom Manager) however, I have read in the forums that this may cause some difficulty when restoring a NAND. Have any of you renamed your NANDroids? With or without issues? Is there a better or more proper way of renaming them? Thanks!:)

technically you can rename them whatever you want just dont use any special characters that terminal wouldnt recognize or cant be typed. I have seen people have difficulty for some reason after renaming but who knows what they did. What has always worked for me is just adding for example -kingsR5 at the end or -CM7ex so that is to say "-RomVersion" i know what they are and when they were made that way, never failed me yet.

I've never had a problem renaming mine with Rom Manager. I have 3 roms I go between, with heavy use between two of them (CM7 and a Sense rom) and before I switch, I make a back up then switch then go in and rename and clean up my backed up roms. I don't need 50 old backups when 3 will do. I switch often depending on what I want to do.

I renamed 2 backups from the original date to what they actually are (OMGB.2.2.3 and Kings.Blakk.R3) yesterday. I've already flashed between them both directions without issue. I renamed the folders in Astro, not ROM manager.

yeah you dont have any special characters so it should be all good, i have seen someone say they had issue after renaming but without standing beside them and looking i have no idea what they actually did, it shouldn't matter as long as you avoid special characters.

astro, root explorer, es file explorer etc, makes no diff you can write whatever you want onto your own sd card with any file explorer.

I avoid rom mnanager though, havent had it installed on my roms in a long time. If i had to guess i would say thats where the renaming issue came from but thats just a guess...
