Quick question!

Hey guys, does anyone now what the easiest and fastest way to transfer my contacts from my Nokia E71 to my new glorious :) HTC Desire?
any help would be really appreciated
Cheers!

pop your sim back in the e71, go to contacts, one of the options in the menu will say cope phone to sim(something like that) and then just pop it back in the desire

I was afraid someone is going to suggest this option lol. I don't want to do it this way because when the contacts are saved in the sim every single number or detail under any name will be stored as two or three names, let alone the emails I have in the contacts!
Thanks for the help anyway mate

Yeah SIM copying is hideous.

Could you not sync your contacts from the Nokia to Outlook, then Outlook to the Desire? Just a shot in the dark because I've not actually tried it.. but that's how I got my contacts from my old iPhone to my old Nokia 5800.

Bluetooth?

Only takes a couple of minutes. I think regardless of which method you choose you may have to resign yourself to half an hour of tidying up before it looks right.

Once you get them over to be google contacts, you can edit them online which makes it a little easier

as lekky said

use nokia pc sync and move contacts to outlook then export them as data in pc and import them on your gmail account..

you should then be able to edit your contacts and have them online in case you need to wipe your phone for any reason..

thanx a lot for the tip guys, I'll try to save to google contacts. I'm just too busy playing with my new Desire, it's awesome!!
