Root Quick Root found you YouTube.. ?

[RhineRamirez]

So I saw this video on youtube today and was wondering if this is a viable option for those who are first-time rooters:

YouTube - How to root your HTC Thunderbolt on Windows very easy

Thanks

Yea, you could use that. I would suggest getting comfortable with ADB before you jump right in. There is also a "One Click Root" available on XDA.

while its not really a "quick root" that looks like a fairly decent video on manual rooting, with things simplified a lil by the guide thats wrapped up with the other needed files for 1 big gi-normouns download, with exception of the poor camera angle and focus.

i thot these videos were a lil better:
getting adb setup:
YouTube - How to Root the HTC Thunderbolt, Setting up ADB - Step 1
steps 2-9 of the guide(basically showing the same thing as your video):
YouTube - How to Root the HTC Thunderbolt, Steps 2-9
its not a whole lot different, except its a lil easier to see what hes doing.

also, there are some links for the current known rooting methods here: http://androidforums.com/thunderbolt-all-things-root/322897-thunderbolt-rooting-methods.html
