Will that email widget show the sender? For emails & SMS you could use the HTC provided widgets as they have a couple of different styles available. Not sure if its exactly what you want so you'll have to give it a try. For appointments I use "Agenda Widget" its very good

Yeah theres 3 views:
An outlook style full preview you flip through.
A list style it sender and first message line
An extended list with sender, pic, title & short message preview
Only thing is you would need to set up the HTC mail app to fetch your gmail as well, I have done it because it seems to cope with attachments a little better than the gmail one. I just disabled notifications for that app.
And no probs, thats what forums are for - well that, flame wars & feeding trolls![]()
"A list style it sender and first message line"
This sounds like just what I
no, it's not difficult.
the desire has a dedicated gmail app. during the initial setup of your desire (via the setup wizard), it will ask you to configure your gmail settings for the gmail app. your phone will then synchronise automatically with your gmail account with your gmail app.
the htc mail app can link to imap, pop and exchange accounts so you can open the htc mail app, add your gmail account and then configure how often you sync, which notifications you want to receive etc. it's a little more work but not a lot
the advantage with the htc mail app is that you can place a widget on your homescreen just like nacatomi said.

Thanks!!+1 for agenda widget. Tried most of them and find this the best and the one that looks the nicest.
For SMS there is nothing that really beats Handcent. Its really customisable so you can make it look however you like. It has a couple of widgets, one with just the icon that has a little number in the corner for how many unread texts you have or one that is about 4x2 that you can scroll thro texts. I personally just have an icon on the screen as sms's pop up when they come in so just press on the icon and takes me straight into Handcent. There are sms widgets out there but yet to find one that I like enough to fill my beautiful looking screens with
I am constantly tinkering and changing things on my phone. My girl is always telling me to 'put my bloody phone down' not since Championship Manager has something come as close to ending a relationship
Enjoy!

Thanks!!
So, to sum it up:
HTC widget for my gmail, agenda widget for my calendar and Handcent for sms.
Sound like a plan?
Now all I need o figure out is how to set up folders in my sd card to copy all my media over from my Bold.yes. and it's coming together nicely.....

Most certainly does
Some other great apps are:
AppBrain - Another version of Android Market but this one recommends apps based on what you have installed plus there is a 'hot apps' section so you can see the most downloaded. Free app.
Folderorganizer - Change icons, set up on screen folders and customise your homescreens even more. I have the paid version but as always try the free one and see how you get on.
Dolphin Browser HD - The best browser full stop. Free app.
Widget Locker - Customise your lock screen to however you want. I've got my settings bar so can turn BT, wifi etc on and off, a clock and my battery percentage so there is no need to swipe and enter my security code to see the basic info. Paid app but only about $1.99 (
I wish!!Or just go into your local vodafone store everyday and stroke the display model with a lusty look until they give you one
I think I was lucky as I'm on VF and got mine in 3 days. Must have got it just before the mad rush.
Still can
