Root RA recovery questions??

ok so i just switched to RA recovery 2.3, im coming from clockworkmod so i have tons of questions because of the change in the menus.

1.So if i want to install a rom what do i wipe??? do i go through and wipe everything?
Wipe All userdata/factory reset?
Whipe Cache:?
Wipe Dalvik - Cache:?
Wipe Data:?
Wipe SDCARD: .android_secure?
Wipe Boot:?
Wipe System:?
Wipe SDCARD: (i would think i obviously wouldn't need to wipe this)
Wipe SDEXT (probably not this one either unless i had partition if i'm correct)
Wipe Data: battery stats?
Wipe Data: rotate settings?

2. Is their a format all for RA 2.3 that someone could get me the link to so i don't have to go 1 by 1? But i would also like to know which ones i need to wipe to do it manually.

3.When making a Nandroid backup it doesnt select Cache, recovery, wimax, sd-ext, or .android_secure. Do i need to select those? my first backup i did with RA i backed up everything so from then on would i be ok with just backing up the boot, system, and data?

4. What is google proprietary system files? Cause this is also a feature in the backup/restore menu.

5. Last question i have used cm 7 nightly and for some reason every time i back it up and need to restore it, it gets to the boot animation and goes nowhere any ideas why??? i did do a full backup of everything for the cm 7 nightly. Do i just have to wait for a stable version?
Thanks for your Help!

1)i wipe data, cache, and dalvik cache.

2)then i use cualkin's format all to make sure it is a clean wipe. here it is Calkulin's_FORMAT_ALL.zip. some might suggest you do it multiple times, but i do it once and never had any issues.

3)i only do the three that are checked off. however i make sure that i have at least one nandroid that has wimax keys backed up.

4)not sure never had to use it.

5)not sure on cm7 never really played with it long enough to know if that is an issue with it or not. could be a bad nandroid. it happens from time to time. i would try other aosp roms that are out there. kings has a great gingerbread rom out.

hope that helps!

If you wipe User data, cache, dalvik, system and boot you don't need to flash the format all zip, they do the same thing although if you want to be safe you can still flash it. I do the 3 that are already checked+cache recovery and wimax, you need to keep those wimax keys safe just incase.
