just preorder from RS:
paid $50 for a $50 Gift Card
confirmed my $20 accessory credit
confirmed instant rebate, no MIR
also he said maybe a day or two earlier than the 5th
...also confirmed that my area, south jersey, will be getting 4 G be the end of the summer, philly has it now, so i am only 60 miles away....
RS was great, the rep was great, no complaints....

Any word on the accessories that will be available? The only two I'm really wanting are an Invisible Shield screen protector and HDMI cable. Think any of those will be available on or before launch date?
I was the first pre-order at my shack and it was easy as pie. Paid the $50 for the gift card, printed up my receipt and i was on my way. The manager said that they usually get there shipments on Thursdays and he would call if it came that day for pick up but they might do a special shipment the day of. Either way they will call you to set up a pick up time and it will be there waiting for you. 21 days left with this POS BB Storm!!!
well if you are an upgrading sprint customer then you will be charged $18 but since most of us are premier you just call and they will remove it from the next bill. RS told me today that the upgrade/activation charge is from sprint not them and will not be collected at time of purchase.
Just ordered mine from RS also. My upgrade date was july 1st and sprint only upgrade me to june 18th. They couldnt do anything earlier. I have been with Sprint for 12 years and spoke to 4 retentions reps and they wont budge from the June 18th date.
So i will be buying full price from RS then prbably returning it and then will order it again from Sprint so i can get my rebate.
Anyone know if RS has the same 30 day return period like sprint? And would i return it to Sprint or RS?

Yes they should, i know when we got the moment we had the 30days (we went through 2 of them to find out Sprint rolled back my acct status to basic services) but the entire time they said we had 30days so it didn't matter -
The rep at my RS said they might be getting them in early as well, she would call me because she is putting one to the side for herself, hopefully they get enough bc i know there are 2 others that work there that are gonna want it as well plus me

I Pre-Ordered my EVO today from my local RadioShack. I was the first pre-order at that particular store and have the pick-up set for June 4th @ 9AM. (They will call me a day before just to ensure everything is good to go)
I am leaving for Myrtle Beach, SC less than 2 weeks later, so not dealing with the $100 MIR was the deal setter for me.

Just pre ordered at radio shack. Paid $50, got a rs gift card for 50 and a receipt and they just said to bring in both on june 4th....now time is going to go extra slow...anticipation growing...
Pre ordered mine this morning as well.
To whoever said they could not pre order it because they were not eligible for an upgrade till 6/1 needs to go back. You can pre order it now, because I have the same eligibility date for the upgrade. Since you are not actually buying it then it does not matter that you are not eligible yet.
The guy at RS said they would probably get the phones a couple days earlier than the 4th, but he literally laughed at me when I asked about getting it early. This is coming from the store manager that has worked at RS since 1984 (or so it said on his name tag, he looked like he did too).
So I will be there on release day to pick it up, too bad I am going to be in class when they open up so I will have to wait until about noon to pick it up, but I have Fridays from work so I have all day to play with it!!!

I figured I'd post my BB horror story/RS redemption here as well:
So, I went to BB this morning and experienced THE rudest employee EVER!!!! I told him that I'd like to pre-order the EVO and he said "ok" and I asked him if it was guaranteed that I'd get the phone on launch. He said, "I don't know. I ant verify that for you"...and I told him that I was told the store would AT LEAST have enough devices to fill pre-orders. I was calm, but a little perturbed. He then walks away and says "Im not going to deal with you". Gawd, I've never been so disrespected. I was so PO'd having driven to Springfield in lunch hour traffic only to face such rudeness.
I ended up going to 'THE SHACK' where the employee was VERY nice and expressed excitment for me and my EVO...her upgrade isn't avail. until Sept., so she's a bit jealous hehe. She said that she just got an email about a big conference call this evening...all about the EVO. She also mentioned that this Pre-Order deal was all new w/ the Evo and that she had calls from 6 people this morning who told her they planned on coming in to pre-order. Hell ya She was also kind enough to tel me that since Springfield wasn't my neighborhood, she would ship the EVO to the store nearest me. Plus they offer a $20 credit for accesories...BB doesn't. Yay I'm getting excited. Hopefully this post makes sense. I've been typing on my Palm Pre while stopped at traffic lights, etc.

Every time you buy something at Radio Shack, there's a link for an online customer satisfaction survey on your receipt; take the survey and get $10 off a purchase of $40 or more within the next 30 days. When I paid the pre-order deposit, the receipt had the link, just like any other transaction. Confirmed with the sales person that the coupon could be used when I pick up the phone in 21 days.
Just spent 3 minutes filling out the survey and printing the coupon, so my net price is $189.99. Radio Shack just paid my first month's "Premium Data" tax.

I was the first to preorder at a local Radio Shack in Edgewater, NJ. The guy has no clue what to do and they actually had to call a Sprint rep for help but 25 minutes later, I was good to go.
Quick question for those who preordered at RS. Did you receive a couple or card or anything actually documenting the $20 off accessories. I spoke with the employee about it but noticed nothing is on any of the receipts I got back. Maybe it'll be given out the day of?

I had same great experience at Radio Shack. I pre ordered two EVO's. He did mention something about still trying to work out the early release deal with Sprint.
