Are RAM optimizer apps bad? I feel like getting one from the play store.

This is probably in the same category as task killers, which do more harm than good. Android does just fine managing RAM on its own and doesn't need any help especially with 700MB of it available.

If we get 700 MB of RAM with no lag , Isnt 2 GB of RAM on the S3 a battery waster?
As well 1.5 Dual core so 1.5 Quad Core on some S3 varients is too much!

im 99.9% positive the extra g of ram with the s3 wont make a difference with batterylife unless the whole gig is dedicated to running even more background apps. and suprizingly the cpu will have little difference as well. biggest difference in bat life would be due to the screen.

but i dont think ppl are having problems with lifetime, i saw some screenshots in the s3 directory with like 1d 15hr and still 70 some percent remaining

But in reality we only have like 300mb of free RAM if you look at whats using your RAM. Look at the app Task Manager that we have in our phones most of it is being used up

okay well 300mb free is damn good


worry when you are having RAM warnings and/or only have 1mb free....

Android will automatically kill off any background tasks when it needs the RAM...downloading an app to do that when it doesn't need the RAM will actually cause adverse effects

300 MB/s of free ram is not bad...the biggest an app in storage size is 40 MBs...I don't think anyone would run more than 7 apps that are 40MBs each......
