I don't think pols like Rand Paul and most of the tea party types have any idea of what a nation is or should be. We're going to be taking some giant steps backwards as a nation and a society, and in many, many areas.
I am a "Tea Party Type." Can you please educate me or us and kindly tell us what we do not know?

Israel had nothing to do with this...your an antisemite.
I never prejudice someone if I can help it and being prejudiced against someone just brecause of an ethnicity or religion - well thats not right.Israel had nothing to do with this...your an antisemite.
So do you think that John McCain and Sarah Palin would be doing a better job right now?
Do you think Palin is qualified to be President?
Please don't deflect just answer the questions because as you stated " I am a Tea Party type".
*we KNOW they are not a separate party but they are part of the REPUBLICAN PARTY.
How cute, more name calling.
I guess it's easier to label someone a derogatory name than it is to try to contemplate the perplexity of a situation juxtaposed to the propositions of a path to potential solutions that is not self serving.
How old are you?

I could go into how I have Israeli Jewish cousins who served in the IDF, and how I most likely have a bigger insight into Israel than you, and waste a few minutes typing about it but I'll just leave you to think yourself
Regards, Shadow
EDIT: I am sure you are a nice guy - but I never understand how reasonable people can develop such extreme views, often lacking compassion
Maybe its a macho thing - I really dont know...
I think Sarah Palin is more qualified than Obama to lead this country, most certainly. She has the experience lacking in Obama because she ran Alaska.

What seems to be lacking is Statesmanship. We need strong people to lead this country and they must understand and follow the Constitution. We need another Ronald Regan.
Obama is not a statesman by any stretch of the imagination. His cabinet members are a problem and he surrounds himself with truly despicable people. Like Van Jones, a self-described, avowed communist.
I believe in the core principals: Small government, the rule of law (US Constitution) individual liberty, tax cuts, strong national defence, leaving us alone to do what we do best.

I dont know why people dont care about the misery of others
What do you think of third world exploitation
No one in Obama's inner circle is as despicable as Dick Cheney, who should have been investigated, indicted, tried and convicted on a variety of major felonies.

I know you didnt mean it to, but that sounds coldI don't care about it.
By some fairtrade products, tell your local politicians1) There's not a damn thing I can do about it
I see that by your sig, fair duce mate2) There are plenty of issues CAN do something about closer to home
I know you are thinking of China here (as most do)3) What we in the west think of as "exploitation", those folks in the Third World usually think of as "work". and usually better work than the alternative
No, no, no. No one disputes the fact that capitalism greatly increases the wealth (and thus living standards) of those who profit from the system. However, it does not, and cannot (since any economic system is merely a way of distributing limited resources), make everyone wealthy. Wealth is accumulated in the hands of the few through the toil of the many (e.g. Chinese sweatshops producing goods for FTSE companies). Anti-capitalists generally disagree with the axiom that there should be this level of pecuniary inequality and know that capitalism cannot create anything but such inequality. Whilst I am incredibly lucky to live in the UK, I appreciate that much of the world's population works harder for less reward than I do. Indeed, what system(s) we replace capitalism with requires serious consideration, however, there can be no doubt that laissez-faire capitalism ought to be replaced.
www.thirdworldtraveler.com/General/ThirdWorld_def.htmAn example of that is the banana crisis in the Caribbean which began in 1993. The European Union implemented a policy that favored the small banana growers of its former colonies in the Caribbean by imposing trade barriers on the banana grown in by Dole, Chiquita, and Del Monte. The fact that these U.S. companies controlled two thirds of the world banana market, compared to 3% for the Caribbean growers and these same companies controlled 42% of the market in the European Community, compared to 8% for the Caribbean growers, it did not deter them from heavily lobbying Washington. With disregard to the fact that it had slashed aid to the Caribbean 90%, from $226 million in 1985 to $22 million in 1995, Washington heeded the call by the companies.
The St. Lucia Banana Growers Association managing director, Rupert Gajadhar, said to a United States trade delegation, ``You are conducting the worst kind of economic warfare against a defenseless people. You take away our bananas and leave us with no alternative but misery, strife, and suffering.`` The United States does not export bananas, and only a handful of U.S. jobs were at stake, so the U.S. had little direct interest in the issue. So one asks himself, could there be another reason why the White House vigorously pursued the case? Well certainly there is. Between 1993 and 1996, Chiquita and its chairman, Carl Linder, donated more than $1.1 million to the Democratic Party, enough to earn him a night in the White House in early 1995. Carl Linder contributed more than $1.4 million to the Republican Party since 1994, he also contacted Bob Dole, who used a Linder owned plane during the 1996 presidential campaign. The White House launched a complaint with the World Trade Organization (WTO) on behalf of the three companies. In 1997 the WTO ruled against the EU requiring it to dismantle its preferences. This is an example of many cases of quid pro quo motivated trade policies.
Unless you know me, never assume you know what I'm thinking.
Is my attitude "cold"? Sure is, and I make no apologies for it.
What you're talking about as "exploitation" is mankind's natural state: "haves" and "have nots". There's no way of making everyone a "have"... it simply doesn't work. You CAN, however, make the overwhelming majority "have nots": just look at the old USSR.
Oh yes... the "the small countries and states that suffer the most (most of Africa, many Indian states, many central american/carribean countries, ASEAN)". My experience is with Thailand and Cambodia. What I saw there is that yes, their wages are MUCH lower... but so is their cost of living. And, although seeing a picture of a street in Pataya LOOKS like absolute squalor, the quality of life is (in many ways) higher than here in the States (or Europe, for that matter).
What I know about Africa and it's problems, you can blame (mostly) on colonial era Europe. Africa hadn't advanced beyond tribal government at that point... then the Europeans took over. When they pulled out, that's exactly what they did: no teaching these tribal folks how to govern themselves in larger groups. Which is why we have a lot of the mess there that we do today...
As for Cheney: do y'all REALLY want to compare "evaded felonies" between the previous administration and the current one?
