Root Random Reboots, Delayed Texts and Calls, What's Up?!

Hello, forum! Haven't been here in a while, and I hope all is well with my Droid friends. I've learned so much in the past year about my phone, and things have been fine until recently. In the past month, it just randomly reboots. I later found out that people had called me, and the ones who left voice mails, well, they didn't show up for days. The same thing's happening with texts. One night, I got like 10 texts at once; turns out people had sent them nearly a week before I got them! What is happening here? I haven't added apps, and I'm still running Backside 7.2 (2012/05/02). I guess my question is should I reflash, and if I should, what about the more recent ROMs, like ICS and JB? Is tethering functioning with either of those? Do they still have major stability issues? It's gotten to the point where friends and family think I'm ignoring them (and sometimes I am!), but we're getting to the point of the year where they'll be in touch more often. Thanks for any help, guys!

I would get a new rom. JB is unstable since it's in alpha stage, ICS is mostly stable, and tethering is possible with a 3rd party app.
Heres some nice roms from Androidcentral:
[ROM 10-3-12]GingerDX JB UI on CM7+Sense2/3 lockscreen - Android Forums at AndroidCentral.com

[ROM][BETA] Quattrimus ICS - Android Forums at AndroidCentral.com

[ROM][WIP]CM10.0.0-RC0-BobZ - Android Forums at AndroidCentral.com

[ROM+Kernel] MiRaGe-CM7.2-IHO - Android Forums at AndroidCentral.com

[ROM][GB][WIP] CyanMobile Experience for the OV - Android Forums at AndroidCentral.com

[ROM] NOV-10-12 | ICySnap v1.0 PILOT | LGUI 3 | ICS 4.0.4 | SCOOP SOME ICE CREAM - Android Forums at AndroidCentral.com

I use quat, mrg and icysnap there all good roms. mrg is a themed cm7 and is the most stable rom out of the 3 I use because its gingerbread and has alot more work than ics roms.

Thanks for your response, pn. I visited AC and flashed CyanMobile, and while I like it, I'm getting FCs when I try to view my contacts. My camera doesn't work either. I noticed some of these ROMs also advise against using Link2SD, which is what I'm currently using. Would I have to get rid of that in order to flash Quattrimus, for example? I'm confused as to what to do about that.

Yep can't use link2sd with quatrimus

So what would I do, delete Link2SD if I flashed Quattrimus? This is all hypothetical, but freedom of choice and knowledge are good things to have!

Make sure you make a backup before flashing a new rom.

I think Quattrimus has a sd ext partition built into it.

Usually you have to give a new rom a few days to settle in before the bugs go away.

Also before flashing you should go with a good wiper to make sure there is no residual data leftover as this could corrupt your new rom.!http://www.mediafire.com/?bh5i7grngo7cvc1 flash this before you flash a rom to get rid of residual data.

Use titanium Backup or my backup pro to backup your apps, from recovery wipe/format everything but sdcard, flash rom, then flash gapps, reboot and enjoy.

quat does have a built in apps to ext scripts. Read the instructions, and warning before flashing any of the roms.

Thanks for all the replies. So I can delete Link2SD after backing everything up, then go ahead and wipe, then flash? I actually saw a post on another Droid forum where a user actually reinstalled Link2SD, and all was fine and dandy. I think that user was having SD-ext issues, that was the reason for the reinstall.
