I like them with green.

If you wrap the stems tightly with plastic wrap it slows the ripening process, which involves the release of ethylene gas, so they last longer.

Watching Dragnet tonight, episode "The Bank Examiner Swindle," was weird! First, "Thursday, December 8th..." That's my birthday. Later, instructing an elderly woman on what to tell the crooks, "tell them he's your son, the one who lives in Arcadia." [Wrong gender, but still.]

When we're watching TV, whether live or recorded, my wife regularly pauses the program (we have DTV) to comment on something in the show or, occasionally, to ask me something unrelated to the show. When I say "regularly" I'm stone-cold serious: I can't tell you the last time we watched even ten or fifteen minutes without an interruption. It drives me nuts, but you have to pick your battles, right?

Anyway, recently we got a new channel, FreeForm, and on Saturday they were broadcasting some Halloween-themed films and they were doing a little pop-up trivia thing where a box would pop up and make a comment about some factoid or detail about the film. More than once she would react to it with something like "There's another one! That is soooo annoying!"

All I could say was "Yes, it is."

Keeping a straight face was darn near impossible...

And yes, the irony was wasted on her. :D ;)

Still ranting against things, I just do not want with her.
After a full year, it is about to put her away in a cabin somewhere, in the middle of a nice lake.
