Can I build some houses or a hotel on the electric company monopoly?
I've not heard too much about it, I'm currently using Astrill VPN when I need to, and that still seems to be working OK. But even without using a VPN, can still get things like BBC, etc. Many businesses here do use VPNs for their international stuff, like maintaining Facebook or Youtube content. I think the authorities know that, and if they shut things off completely, might find many companies taking their business elsewhere. Google is definitely still blocked.

On the same token when people call my phone an iPhone, or an android tablet an iPad. Everytime that happens I hope a hipster chokes on his gluten-free organic panini.

It's not malware - it's a very recently discovered potential hole - if you get a bad app that uses it.
Cheetah Mobile (makers of Clean Master and other famous snake oil) are going to town as the saviors on this.
