There's a heck of a lot of Lego now that isn't actually made by the Lego company, i.e. interlocking studded plastic building blocks, "compatible with leading building bricks" or something like that. :thumbsupdroid:

How do they get away with that? Is it not a patent infringement?

IANAL :thumbsupdroid:

I believe the original Lego patents for their interlocking building brick system expired long ago.

In China, I don't think I've ever seen actual real Lego at all, it's all clone!

These days, Lego seem to be very much into franchises and licensing, Star Wars Lego, Angry Birds Lego, Disney Lego, Lego with weapons..LOL! etc. there's Lego video games, The Lego Movie of course. Which would all be protected by copyrights, and no one else can legally touch.

When I was about 8 or something, I had Lego trains, that was great. :) I tried making Lego roller-skates once, with the larger blocks and wheels. It wasn't such a good idea!

I played with Lego knockoffs back in the seventies... they had a different design for gripping the studs, which unfortunately broke easily, so attrition was a bit higher.

So the school is finally allowing the students to use calculators.

That porch doesn't look like porches here. No high wind warnings. We will get trash can and small dog warnings when a system comes through. Everything would be blown off that porch.

I do like it. We had a small porch when I was a kid and I spent a lot of time out there in the summer.

When I was a teen, we'd sit on our porch and watch the lightning show... Alas, I now live in an irrigated desert, porchless, and nary a thunder-boomer.

On a less positive note, it is time for work.
