@Kaat72 How long do you have in Reykjavik? Not been offered that one as a stopover, although I don't think Icelandair has flights to China. :)

Been offered Amsterdam almost every-time with KLM, always too expensive though. But still cheaper than direct Beijing to London with British Airways, Virgin Atlantic or Air China.

Hi Mike :) It's about a 1.5/2 hours stop in both Reykjavik and in Seattle. Dinner time in Iceland. I assume we are clearing our luggage and passing customs in Seattle, so all be needing that time there.

KLM is excellent. Good care and food plus drinks. As is Scandinavian SAS.
We fly those frequently.

Have a safe trip @Kaat72 and a great holiday, I'm sure you will. :)

Might give KLM a try next time I go to the UK. The last 3 times I've used Aeroflot via Moscow, also used Cathay Pacific, Qantas, Air New Zealand, Emirates, Lufthansa, Air China, Singapore Airlines and Malaysia Airlines for going too and from the UK from China, Beijing or Hong Kong.

BTW the worst airline I've ever used is Air Transat, London Gatwick to Toronto. That was awful, terrible food, cramped uncomfortable seats, many screaming babies, noisy aeroplane. But I think they are just a cheap charter airline anyway.

School bike sheds weren't like this when I was a boy. It's all e-bikes and power outlets now.

Huh, finally got a call for an interview on a job I applied for in March.

I'm thinking that these guys must be seriously understaffed, or some things have really hit the fan, or the boss is painfully disorganised.

... or some combination thereof. I had emailed him some twelve days or so after the listed closed out. He replied ten days after, and so I replied to his reply immediately, telling him my schedule, and asking him if he wanted a face-face or teleconference...

Then nothing. A month goes by, and I ask one of the guys who works for him if they ever hired anyone. "Nope, still interviewing... did you interview with him?"

No, I haven't heard from him.

"Huh, weird."

That was a couple weeks ago. Then today, I get a message: "Sorry about that, I dropped the ball: I thought I was waiting for you and you were actually waiting for me."

Of course, he picks the worst week to want a face-face: I work the next two days, then took Monday off for family business, Tuesday (hopefully in the) morning I'm expecting the refrigerator guy to show and fix my fridge, then I'm driving to the coast to spend two days with the rest of the family on vacation before I have to come back and go to work again on Friday.

Mad science time!

I unearthed an HP G72 that had been abandoned for scrap in my son's closet.

I repaired the power connector, and found that it works.

The case is complete trash; which is what caused the problems with the power connector I the first place.

... But I don't need another laptop.

Damn, but 17" screen!

So I made it into a tablet... Well, no touch screen, so... Half a tablet?
