Yeah - my dad went back in his late 20s too. I remember going to classes with him. *Side note - he was in the first graduating class with a computer science degree at his school.

What else do you want it to be? Every feeling or thought is a chemical reaction in your brain, so it is reasonable to assume that a depression is a chemical unbalance.

Unbalance because a depression isn't considered as a "normal state". Same thing for OCD.
