Random Thought Thread

I prefer birch beer, myself.

I don't eat cereal. In fact, I am having more and more trouble eating anything with sugars in it anymore, which is probably a good problem to have, considering I want to not weigh >200lbs anymore.

Makes finding a snack problematic, though-- most machines only carry corn/sugar products.

Same with drinks. Nearly everything has corn syrup. I prefer cranberry juice. Straight. Good luck with that: if you can get it, it's usually cranberry juice cocktail, which is the good stuff watered down with grape juice, apple juice and/or some other sweetener (the aforementioned corn syrup). Grapefruit juice is the same.

I have switched my primary soft beverage to Pellegrino or Perrier sparkling mineral water. I have seen that in a few vending machines, too. :)

Tap water for me. I work from home and my water is decent, I drink a lot of it all day long. Water is definitely my beverage of choice. I do get a Dr. Pepper or Cream soda every now and again though because they are mighty tasty.

This thread idea is nothing new. It is however, useful.

Got a random thought that doesn't need a whole new thread dedicated to it? Post it here!

I'll kick it off. ;)

.... Man, I love the SSH/Lynx combo. Take that, firewall!

I wonder did she know that it didn't mean that much to me to mean that much to her?

Look! My milkweed is growing! Decided to plant some and maybe help a monarch along or maybe the hummingbirds will like them. Or maybe I'll just end up with weeds in the yard. Eventually shooting for a butterfly garden but yeah, not just yet.

Just sitting here listening to people birch about the network being crappy (it is, the whole network needs to be overhauled, but IT doesn't want to do anything beyond changing a server every eight months), but none of them wants to take the time to call IT to get something done about it.

Got me a new commuter yesterday... thought I was going to test-drive a few locally then drive out to L.A. where they are actually cheaper. Instead, I picked up a car that went to a big sale event last weekend, didn't move so they knocked $3k off the price. Low miles, lease return.

Got rid of my minivan in the process, talked them down to a reasonable number and now I have something with good gas mileage for commuting between my new work location to my old house (until I can get my official move on).

How far is the commute?
