WTF have they done to you Thomas?

Why is Thomas a tank engine? As far as I know, all steam engines have (usually) water tanks.
Even diesels have to store fuel somewhere. Trolleys and electric trains don't.

I believe tank engines are named so because they carry their water in tanks carried on board the steam locomotive itself, rather than in a trailing tender, along with the coal. Tank engines were often used for shunting and relatively short distances, and may not require a separate tender, which the larger express mainline locomotives do.

I liked matrices, mainly because I could understand what was going on. But I wonder what job requires them.
It's a bit like the 'Formal methods' module I studied on my CS degree - that's proving a 20 line piece of code works on paper, without testing it. Yeah right, like that approach really scales up to a 2,000,000 line behemoth system doesn't it?:rolleyes::thumbsupdroid:

One of my former coworkers texted me yesterday... said the equivalent of "this place is swirling down the toilet hole fast" and noted that at least three of them (my former coworkers) are looking for employment elsewhere.

I was told that the person who was hired to replace me has already bolted (after something like three months).

I know a few of those people will stay put because they have serious roots down, but I feel sorry for them because their work is only going to get harder with a bunch of new people to train/carry. They certainly aren't going to get any pay raises...
