My mother was a music nut. And then my older sister loved music. So basically everything from the forties through the seventies is my sweet spot. Mid sixties through the mid seventies is the music I bought and loved but I will admit to a genuine appreciation for the big band sound and early rock and roll. I stream a 70's channel more often than not.
The local radio station I listen to more often than not played the latest and greatest in the mid to late sixties. They played the tunes of the day and all the kids listened to, danced to, and to this day still base memories of that time on their library. Then as the years passed, they played the soft rock or mellow rock tunes. Today the station plays the oldies. They played and are still playing the same tunes they played fifty years ago. I did an interview with the station a few years back. I told them when I got my first FM radio I tuned it to their station.
I haven't changed stations yet.
