NYEX (New York Exchange) and NEEX (New England Exchange) Merged to become NyNex for a while before a merger with Southern Bell I believe. That's when they adopted Bell Atlantic.

So Google agreed to play by China's rules in order to gain access to the country
Has something changed recently? I've not seen anything in the news about anything like that.

Most of Google's core services are still blocked here, like Search, Play, Youtube and Gmail. They have a small range of services via www.google.cn, Google Maps and Translate, which are not blocked. However their advertising and money making businesses are not blocked at all, namely AdSense, AdMob and DoubleClick. So they definitely play by China's rules when making $$$$ are important, and that has never been blocked.

But then now there's the parent brand, "Be evil" Alphabet, Inc. Which very likely will comply with everything that the Beijing govt. desires. Bing (Microsoft), Apple and Yahoo have never been censored here AFAIK.

When you use Bing in China you see this notice on almost every page..."Some results are removed in response to a notice of local law requirement.". Which I believe was the whole sticking point between what Google desired and what the Chinese govt. required, e.g. search results that complied with Chinese laws.

Just picked up one of these 6600mAh rechargeable power banks

For $5 at a thrift store (Five Below)

Never heard of the brand, but I figured for the price, I'd give it a shot.
