I don't understand baseball, I understand cricket better. And neither are played here.

Baseball, is it like that girls' game, rounders? :D:p

Told ya! 1908 + 108 = 2016!

In 1969, growing up watching the Cubs at Wrigley Field, I learned about their penchant for snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. I watched it again with Billy Buckner. Then with Steve Bartman. So when they stayed in first place early this year, I was not getting worked up this time, just waiting to see the inevitable.

But they stayed in first. They got even better. I got so caught up, I went to LA to see a couple NLCS games. Winning the Series was never impossible, of course, but it sure seemed that way, my whole life. They finally did it. Life is somehow different now. And they're well-equipped to be a formidable team for several years to come.

I was screaming at my TV watching Joe Madden try to do just that.

Yep, I also think Maddon was a little trigger happy, pulling perfectly healthy pitchers and relying way too much on Chapman. And I can't imagine how much grief he'd get if the Indians wound up winning game seven. But they didn't, and we did, so Maddon gets to be a genius.

I'll be honest, there were so many likeable ex Red Sox players, coaches, managers, prospects, and GM's on both teams that would have been OK with either team winning, but I identified with the Cubs more. That said, I went to bed after the eighth inning thinking that if Cleveland won there was a good reason Francona would have had three championships and Maddon none. I'd say at least game 7 was won in spite of him.

Not sure who at Fox thought it was a good idea to hire Alex Rodriguez either. "Hey, I have a great idea for announcers, let's use 2 of the most worst 'for the love of the game' people we can find!". Yeah. Go away. Neither (and a goodly list of others) should be paraded out as commentators/analysts, especially for the WS. Just go away. Great way to promote the sport. Go away.

I agree, hopefully you picked up what I was laying down:D
If this is about the Hall of Fame, let's just say he's already in the Hall of Infamy. If this is about forgiving someone for mistakes made all those years ago. . . . . I've made a few myself.
