So, Dngrswife and I went and saw Rogue One the other day.

I must say,I was very disappointed by Darth Vader: their mannikin, for lack of a better word, was too short and can't act at all. It was nice to have James Earl Jones voicing again, but the script was off.

The CGI of Peter Cushing wasn't horrible, but the one of Carrie Fisher was.

Seriously, someone needs to apologize to David Prowse and get him back in the studio while he's still around.

I think they seriously annoyed him when his voice wasn't used. But honestly, can you blame them?
Just listen to the immortal line "You are a part of the rebel alliance, and a traitor" spoken in a strong West Country accent. It's hilarious :D

 
There is a documentary, I think on Netflix, about Prowse... George accused Prowse of leaking key details from Return, and blackballed him.

It wasn't David who leaked, he didn't even know those details at the time, but his name was associated and Lucas lost his shit over it.

That's unfair. I guess he also didn't get a cut of the merchandising, which I think was a lucrative deal for the other actors.
 
2017 off to an expensive start. 2 new car tyres required, thanks to a badly adjusted track rod.
I must have run over one too many potholes.
 
I'm considering a job in Billings, Montana... on the one hand, it pays more than what I am making right now, or at least the same without massive amounts of overtime.

On the other hand, it's even more remote than the irrigated desert I live in now.

But you what? I bet it's green in the summer! And it's not too far from Yellowstone National Park.
