Have you looked into these? I have them on my camper and leave the inside vents open all year and don't get moisture inside, even with inches of snow on the roof. It's been quite some time since I was last in my Jayco trailer that I have parked on my cabin property. Both skylights have been leaking and I have quite a mess and damage to deal with. Grrrrr
I have not... they look legit! I just discovered the problem yesterday and lacked a ladder to see what is going on. Unfortunately, the weather turned bitter cold with freezing drizzle so the project has been put off. I have a damp master bed. Just the foot of the bed and I hope it isn't more serious than that. The bath is trashed. It has entered the ceiling area and ran down the wall behind the end of the shower tub and toilet and the wall is trashed. That's what I get for not checking on it often.Have you looked into these? These mount to the vertical aluminum collar that the plastic skylight rests on. The holes are drilled horizontally through it, so there is no new hole in the roof. The vent is wider than the entire opening, so water can't get in. I do close them to a crack in high wind rainstorms just in case, but I drive down the road with the vents always open. It helps with the "camper smell" too as air is always circulating.I have not... they look legit! I just discovered the problem yesterday and lacked a ladder to see what is going on. I will see if they just need resealed or replaced as soon as possible. I've zero problem in using a product such as you suggest. It would do the job and add an entire new seal around the skylights. I will definitely keep it in mind and I appreciate the suggestion.
I can't really attest to any ceiling damage but I definitely have wall damage. I haven't pulled the vinyl covered wall panel off to see what sort of structure damage I have. I'm guessing it isn't good by the pillowed panel. I just hope I can salvage the ceiling. I was wanting to do away with the tub shower and replace it with a stall shower. Now's my chance. The existing will have to be removed to address whatever damage I have. It's ugly my friend. It was a year ago last September when the trailer was last used. Unfortunately, if you have wall / ceiling damage these may be a little late unless repairs are made. I'm sure you have the skill to do them with your background though.
