Presumably a Baeofeng, they are cheap $20 radios that get handed out like candy.
Hope the one you bought is something better.
And there's a lot more to ham radio than cheap dual-band handhelds but that's where a lot of people start these days.

Yep, it was a Baofeng UV-5R. I already have the BF-F8HP Pro, which is the next-gen UV-5R. I'll probably end up giving it back to the club so they can gift it to someone else.

Yep, sciatica definitely hurts. I broke my ankle, a lot of years ago, and worked on it for 8 hours, standing, before I went to the doctor.
I was dating a gal that was attending college in a town South of me. I drove down there to see her and we walked from her dorm to the down town pubs and had a couple of beers. Being stupid, I leap frogged over a parking meter and landed half on and half off the curb to the street. That was the most painful twelve or so block walk back to her dorm of my life.

yeah this week has only my chrio on the usual time..i have weak glutes and chicken legs..
I woke up to an email from the FCC, issuing my call sign and license. I paid another fee to apply for a vanity call sign... but at least I'm now legal to operate across all amateur bands.

i woke up to my ex who wanted to fraud my debit for a card... she does not know when it ended and it did a spell ago..
Great, at least their backlog has long cleared.
You sure didn't waste any time applying for a vanity call. You keeping the same area or changing? That used to not be an option but now it is.
I still have my original call and don't plan to change it.
