Help Random tones after USB unplug

quique

Lurker
Hey everyone.
I apologize if there's already a thread about this issue in these forums. I've searched for it, but unfortunately, my English is not good enough for this search engine :)
Every time i unplug my device from the computer, i get a random ringtone, a random text message alert, notifications etc. WHY???
Is there a solution for this annoying problem?

Running 1.5 firmware for now (just stole the phone from my brother, still learnning...)

Well a solution could be to download Autostarts from Market, and disable all the "Music" you see in there. Another will be too root the phone and delete the Music from System then install a third party music app like Meridian. Arghh to complicated if you are a android rookie. Just do a restart, and see if happens again, or roam a bit more on this forum and you`ll learn your way alone. If you intend to keep the phone, you should think in updating the Android version. Gl!

Thank's.
It's that i'm a rookie, but i know my way around in the gadget area (think so anyway). Actually, I'm gonna keep it at least until i can afford a new SGS. For now, i think to go with the latest Galaxo. Do you think it's a good choice, or should i go Straight to Gaosp Nightly?

No no, Galaxo is perfect for now, then after a while make a nandroid backup of it on Slot 1, then flash the GAOSP, get used with that and make a nandroid on slot 2. Then you can chose any time you want what rom to use. This is how i do.

This is what i appreciate on a good forum, fast and effective replies. So this is what i like to offer to others as well. I know how much it sucks to post a question or a problem and never get the answer like on other forums. Glad to be of help.

this problem is affected on galaxies due to the way the rescan works after you disconnect via the pc.
as it has internal SDcard, when you mount it it mounts both internal and external.
when this happens the system can no longer find the files it linked for ringtone/notification if you used a custom one on your sdcard/external sdcard
when you disconnect it loses the item.object it was linked to before and either picks a standard one or finds one at random.
I no longer own this phone but my wife has my old one which i spent alot of time on this forum with.
Best thing to do after using mass storage is to reboot the device. it will be as normal
