Help Randomly receiving multiples of the same text message

I sometimes get the same text message up to 6 times. Most of the time it's twice or 4 times though. I have a refurb and it has happened on both of the phones. It also happens in the stock app, handcent and chomp. Any ideas?

It happens to me all the time as well. I believe its part of Verizon's way of insuring they get you your texts... just send it 10 times and atleast one will stick!

I'm not sure though I just ignore them.

have you tried uninstalling one or more of the SMS apps and seeing if it goes away?...

if you have multiple SMS apps installed you also need to make sure you only have notifications on for the app you want to use...

It happens when just the stock app is installed and it's not notifications, but the messages themselves.
