rant: all widgets converting numbers to text are useless

There was no mistake, Gazanfer. All deletions were very deliberate, and I have explained the reasons why. Please address any further question via PM.

When I look at the clock, most of the time I'm not trying to figure out how long it's been since X or how long until Y, I just want to know the time. Why even have a clock at all since there is already one in the status bar. Gazanfer might look at "ten thirty five" and have to pause for a minute to run through a couple math problems but I don't think most people do. My guess is that Gazanfer also does not like wallpapers because they are useless and definitely does not use live wallpapers because they serve no purpose other than slowing down your phone ;).

I don't need 5 home screens so I use one of them to try out different widgets, one of those being the minimalistic text app. I'm not sure I'd use it on my main home screen since there is another clock widget I like more, but I do think it is pretty cool and can definitely see how others would like it too. Tells time and looks good, pretty simple really.

hey guys,

after thread mod locked the thread and unlocked it again, I see wrongs in my ways, and I feel very sorry for calling some people idiots.

no one in the whole world is an idiot, there are no right and wrong ways of doing things, everything is a choice. because otherwise people might get offended. and we don't want that to happen, because it might hurt them.

we are all living in a world full of flowers and rainbows.

:)

This reads suspiciously similar to another poster who was ragging/trolling on the Nexus board about a week ago.

there is a reason we (humans, smart ones) use numbers, so that we don't have to deal with reading sentences to have an idea of some numerical value.
I take about as long to convert words to numbers, as I do converting analog displays which use only symbols, roman numerals, etc. to numbers. It's an instant process.

You can tell time via general orientation/angles, various symbols, letters, etc. and it all works...and the more you do it, the better you get at it.

What's interesting, and indirectly related, is that in English grammar, you're generally supposed to spell numbers lesser than nine (9), instead of using numerals.

In the end, there is no steadfast rule. Use what best works for you, be it for practical reasons or stylish ones. No reason to be a slave to convention, when you're playing with an OS like Android.
