Rant Thread - What really grinds your gears?

Uploading an avatar seems to be problematic.

I say seems to be, because I am going through my phone right now and that could certainly be the roadblock.

It's supposed to work regardless but we have a big honking mobile upload bug that's probably at the core of the avatar upload problem.

It's great to be back... it kind of reminded me of the Windows Vista launch . Not everything is in place yet, but this is better than the other day - I couldn't get past the "checkout the announcement, too" window. Welcome to Xenforo. Yippee... we can post now! I got my computer-based studio upgraded to "Pro" for free, and it runs in 64-bit native. I can hear the CPU groaning when I pull up the onboard FX ... it is good to be back with all of you, and, now... I'm a "Well-Known Member". I'm cooking some basmhati rice (well, it's soaking... a trick I learned to make it less sticky, before bringing it to a boil), and, a vegetable/chicken mixture that I call "LW's Penicillin" - I use adobo seasoning, garlic, pepper, various herbs and spices, baby carrots, celery, onions, and mushrooms - with chicken breasts that I cut up later in the cooking process. When you serve it over the rice, it is SO GOOD (a note to the cholesterol watchers - the rice, after cooking, gets placed into a pan with one stick of butter). Butter, I say! It's a habit I picked up from my cousins in Minnesota. Well, it's been great being able to post, and, much love to all of you - LW

Welcome back, everyone... it looks like my last post disappeared. I'm cooking some great food, and, waiting for my better half to get home. Be well, everyone - LW

These new forums. Not user friendly, alerts are overdone, has a PlayStation trophy system for inexplicable reasons, edit is gone, my avatar is blown out of spec to a pixelated mess, and there isn't even a Material Design which would have been great since lollipop came out.

One alert preference in particular isn't on that page.

If you go to 'My forums', and hit edit, you can disable alerts for new threads in your watched (a.k.a. favourite/subscribed) sections of the forum. Tick the sections you want to change preferences for and use the drop down at the bottom.

XenForo defaulted to alerts for new threads in all sections, which is a pain.

Change your alerts here -

The edit bug doesn't affect everyone but it's being worked at the highest priority, go back a page if you want to read why we did this, update your avatar with a higher density copy from your desktop. The old avatars were pixel limited anyway.

No comments on material design.

I did and clicked save everytime I looked at it. Nothing is checked.

"Nobody likes me, everybody hates me, I'm gonna go dig worms... big fat juicy ones, slip-slop slimy ones, fuzzy-wuzzy little worms... I'll chop their heads off, pull their guts out, throw their skins away........ and I forgot my spoon...." Xenforo is here to stay. The powers-that-be at Phandroid have mandated this change, and it's going to take some time for us to get used to it. I'm just a lowly "Well-Known Member" - and though the changes here have had a few hiccups, it's doing very nicely now (a few glitches here and there, but, otherwise it's okay). EarlyMon and the crew seem to be working hard to help all of us, so, let's give them a little support. I'm okay with Xenforo - and, I'm grateful that we still have the greatest forums to get help, rant, and be sociable without all of the security problems inherent in a chat format. Forums are just like the old days, in Mosaic - but far, far better than what we had, back then. A little encouragement is the order for the day... let's get used to this new GUI together, and, when we need help - EarlyMon to the rescue! Have a good day, everyone - LW

The crowd-funded device I invested in is stalled because of competition... I may never see the device I was so excited to see happen due to someone else hitting the market first with an inferior product.
