Rant Thread - What really grinds your gears?

Ugh. My son got mad playing a game of Madden and threw the controller.......at my new TV. Busted the screen.

Nooooooooooo!! I have been known to throw a controller or two. Thankfully none have hit the screen.
Hope the insurance covers it.

I am one of the idiots that didn't wear the straps on the Wii remote when they came out. Smashed his brand new TV after about half an hour. An expensive mistake, had nothing to do so went to the pub...needless to say that night was on me :D

Man...that really sux! [emoji107] [emoji20]

I know that I would have, at the very least, been Grounded for several months!

He is, and he is also required to do any chores around the house that my wife and I don't feel like doing at any particular time. And pay for the TV through no allowance and any odd jobs he can find around the neighborhood. And no phone or tablet until I feel like letting him have them back.

Do you find it slightly irritating when you go into the toilet, and there's no soap/paper towels/toilet roll?
Would it kill the person who used the last bit of said resource, to go downstairs and pick up a refill?!
Plus, does the lack of soap mean all the other people who didn't replace it, also didn't wash their hands? Ughh!

Lots of people carry hand sanitizers - I guess the sanitizers take the place of soap and water. Women can carry bottles in purses, but the sanitizers come in individual packs, too. Some people also carry small packs of Kleenex.

I've used my shirt tail if there are no towels.

Some people leave "skid marks" in bathtubs. (We lived in an apartment with a shared bathroom - the landlord was supposed to buy tp and didn't. We kept our tp by the door and reminded everyone to take it and bring it back if they used the bathroom. The other tenant didn't bother - he'd just flush the dirty underwear down the toilet. We found out when the landlord confronted everyone with the underwear Rotorooter had retrieved)

In the Kansas City area we have shared off ramps off of I-435 (HWY that loops around the KS and MO sides of the metro.) For the uninitiated, shared off ramps are off ramps that are connected by an additional lane not a part of the HWY itself. An example, you have 2 roads coming up, say 13th Street and 15th Street. Instead of 2 exits for these roads, you have a lane that shoots off to the right and you'll have the off ramp for 13th and then the off ramp for 15th.

It drives me up the wall when people use these off ramp lanes as an additional HWY lane. During rush hour it means people can't get on or off the HWY smoothly because all the @$$hats are in the exit lane and not moving because they will be continuing onto the main HWY.

I'd like each and every one of them to have a flat tire on a cold (~ 38 degrees) rainy night with no flashlight.

GRRRRRR

It's been awhile. I just wanted to touch base with my friends here at the gear grinding thread at AF and to let everyone know that my other half and I CAM00226.jpg

did it...

She's heading to CO for the Holidays one last time alone on the eighteenth; yes, I'm getting ready to get a new power chair, and my life has greatly improved - so, it'll be easier to care for the crazy dogs until she gets home on January 6. Training collars, and transmitter -

No escape. Getting everything fixed, bringing our already permanent house foundation up to code, and a new brick underlay for this trailer for a house Deed, vs. a title. With the properties selling well in this area, we'll be ready for a new place in CO in '16 - the realtor is already salivating...

Congrats LW, I've never been brave enough to pull that trigger yet.
