Rant Thread - What really grinds your gears?

When my ISP spends thirty minutes without allowing my connection - I think I can complain about that, it is dial up after all >.>

there is nothing worse for me than animal crulty and to see animals in a bad condition of health.

I guess i love animals....exept insects though i hate it when people put salt on snails.

Oh.....and i absolutly hate mosquitos.....HHHHHHAAAAAATTTTTTEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And then there is flys.

But the worst is definitely animal crulty....in sa you see dogs that are skelatons that are only hours from death because the owner cant afford or bother to feed it !

Also you see in traditions like the zulu tradition where they slaghter the animal....you know what....shoot it in the head and then slaghter it, atleast it wont feel pain !

Why do people even think of branding horses....brand themselves first !!!!!!

Then you go to a sea food restaurant and see the lobsters....they wait to get eaten and even get so hungry they turn canable and eat each other !

Where is the decency in mankind these days!...... WHERE?!!!!!!!!!....... I tell you where!!!!!

Then theres the worst part of crulty.....ow.....just the thought of people hurting animals for the pleasure of it.....ahhhhhhhh!!!!!!! Wheres my tazor ?!!!!!!!!!......lets see how they like it ?!!!!!!!!!!

Don't forget when they are completely hairless and covered in some sort of skin condition like mange. Its not only sad but disgusting... Worse still, many get off with a slap on the wrist. <grinds my gears :p

animals should have the same rights as people, just like us they are living creatures.....by same rights im refering to if there rights are abused they should be punishable to the extent that if a human right was abused, im not refering to the right to education. :)

I agree. But as of right now an animal is classified as property, much like a toaster, and toasters don't have rights.... I think??? .... Who classifies a dog as property? Thats gear grinding material Lol

Damn political signs of all types. They are OK leading up to an election, but pick them up or do something with them afterwards!

There's still one sign on I-25 northbound Pueblo to Colo. Spgs. from the 2008 election. (Against amendments)

Plus all the flyers that people don't want end up decorating yucca, candelabra cactus and barbed wire fences.
This is 2012 people!

Up next: Animals at the election, Ron Paul wins due to having the "four legged vote" ;) :D

Stress is one of those things that brings my gears to a grind.

Assholes who put xenon/HID bulbs IN HALOGEN headlamps. These people have no concern for the safety of oncoming traffic and fail to realize how extremely overly bright they are. I just had a redneck pass me and he had them not only in his headlamps, but also his foglamps.

I'm not against HID's, as I have them in my car. But what I am against is doing an upgrade to your old car and not doing it correctly. People should do some research on these things. HID's were never designed to work in a halogen lamp; this is why they too bright due to the type of beam pattern your housing puts off/out onto the road. This is also why all modern HID's in OEM vehicles use a glass projector lense, and makes the beam pattern different than a halogen lamp. The glass lense is also specific; in that it's shape (like eyeglasses) is even different than cars with halogen projector headlamps. The bulb type dictates the lamp housing, lense, etc. in order to provide great light output, but to also be safe for oncoming traffic. Most people are doing it because you can get a bulb/ballast kit super cheap on Ebay.

So my point is simply this:

1) Do some research before you just go out buy something because you think it will look cool on your car/truck.
2) If you do decide to add HID's to your vehicle; fair enough but do it right>>>>>SPEND THE MONEY AND BUY AN HID UPGRADE KIT THAT ALSO CHANGES OUT YOUR OLD HEADLAMP WITH A NEW ONE THAT HAS A PROJECTOR LENSE.

Seriously? So, what? I can't step on a bug in my house? It's alive. How about chase off the squirrel in the bird feeder? It has a right to eat too! But... then the birds don't get to eat because the squirrels are such pigs!

Speaking of pigs... It it o.k. to eat some bacon, as long as it's slaughtered humanely?

Loud and obnoxious people...self-centered brats. Oh, yes! the ones who believe it's all about them. Thank God I'm not like that. ;)

Because I travel so much for work, what really grinds my gears lately is the "businessman", at any gate in any airport, talking LOUDLY on his phone for all the world to hear. During heavy commuter times of the day, just about every gate has one of these jackwagons.

The worst offenders are the ones who can't even sit still but rather do the walk & talk version so everybody gets to enjoy their conversation.

We have a CVS commercial running here. Dumb idiot says she likes CVS since it's all about her. Last line - It's my CVS - all mine"

On the strength of that commercial, I would never use CVS.

Marketing is encourgaging this behavior.

Apple getting into textbook business. Books will have to be downloaded from Apple only.

I'd be yelling like hell if schools forced a certain type of device on my child. There was that episode of a school spying on students so even if the text device was free I wouldn't trust it.

Also for college students, the charges could equal or be above the normal cost of the textbook with no resale. Plus the cost of the device.

I recently did a rather informal study. Plenty of signs and not one of them told me if the candidate was a democrat or republican. NOT ONE!

I guess I'd be embarrassed too!

I really am pissed to find out that all my facebook fans and friends have their phone numbers in my contact list, I first started with my family and friends but when facebook upgraded, I noticed that over 300 phone numbers were added, I do NOT care to have their phone numbers,,, how do i delete them????

Turn off sync and this is the worst part... you have to manually delete them one by one. (If multi select isn't possible, like it was for me when I was in your boat)

iPhones. I'm so tired of SMS coming through as MMS. And having to hit download to actually see it. And the group message BS. And duplicate messages from them.

I've been applying for work lately. I've got a few replies and interview lately so rejecting 1 or 2 is ok, especially ones like this:

"As a next step we invite you to write our web-based logical reasoning test. This mandatory test will require between one-and-a-half and two hours of your time. Further instructions may be found here when you are ready to proceed."

I logged in with the user/pass required and watched the examples. Found that it was all mathematical mumbo jumbo and number 'shifting' ...I wasn't about to waste 2hrs on this.

So, here is my reply:

To Whom it May Concern,

Thank you for the offer however, after viewing the video instruction I don't see how a test like this will prove the computer networking knowledge and skills I have. If the test was networking related I would attempt it, that after all is what the job I'm applying for. Getting filtered and short-listed by mathematical numbers can't possibly get you the right person. Does anyone do live, in person interviews any more?

Case in point; the computer which filtered my name to the canned message below made a typo in my last name.

:/

...I normally don't reply to these things but I had a bad day.

I feel you. I was applying last year and for the smaller positions they required IQ type tests which I'm comfortable with. However spending an hour/hour and a half on a single application is such a waste of time. Keep your head up. I just started a new job end of December. I had been unemployed for a year and 2 months up until that point.

I was once offered a different position which could have lead to more potential growth, but they wanted to cut my salary by 10K, which was ridiculous. Obviously, I didn't take the job. I actually went on the final interview out of courtesy and informed the HR person that they were out of their damn mind thinking that ANYONE would accept such shitty terms. Their benefits were awful too.

Worse than any virus you have ever seen. T-Mobile puts it on their Samsung Exhibit II. When you activate it, it slows your phone to a crawl. Worse yet you can't remove it. Ispent several hours on the net with a LOOKOUT tech type; finally got it partially inactivated, the icon is still on the phone.

The phone seems to be working but it still does squirrly things, numbers popping up in black windows when you scroll the screen; and stuff like that, I am ready to throw it away.

BEWARNED: do not activate this app.

I've seen parents actually strike their kids if the kid didn't win. I always praised my daughter for even getting out and competing. Never cared if she came in first or last, it was the effort.
I'm not sure who is worse, figure skating moms or hockey moms. I worked at the skating rink for a while and had to deal with both.

Beauty Pageant Moms.... (daughter watches tiaras/toddlers or whatever it is called)
