Rant Thread - What really grinds your gears?

The short term fused,I just spend about an hour trying to reconnect my moto edge plus via phone link on my windows ten, tried the long approach,
but I disconnected it form my p.c., and now it works pretty great, it is an excellent idea when you want to clear off all messages.

I just received a robo call from my city's water department. Considering we are in our third year of draught conditions, the city was forced to limit the watering of yards. Half of the city gets Monday from 8 PM until Tuesday 10 AM and the other half of the city gets to water Friday 8 PM until Saturday 10 AM. I understand the mandated restrictions but it will shut down over half of the lawns I mow. I'm fortunate to have eleven irrigated lawns on well fed systems. The rant is for the lack of rainfall in my area.

@olbriar Why don't you officially retire and do something you really enjoy? Go fishing instead? or you were an outstanding carpenter, you could build custom wooden things and sell them on the internet. I had a neighbor who was a carpenter who built custom bird house and made a lot of money selling them on eBay.. Just a thought

My mowing has always been a hobby of sorts. I put the money to work but enjoy being outside, I enjoy my clients, I enjoy the exercise, I enjoy the routine and discipline it takes to keep a schedule. I can't be idle. It drives me crazy. I hope that I can mow many more years. I don't know if I can survive without mowing. I have a fear of sitting down and rusting out. :)

On a side note: I went to work weekends and summers for my father. He taught me the trade and I became a very good carpenter. I loved creating and making dreams materialize for home owners. Basically I had 60 years of working wood. I'm over it. :)

^ - (shocked that Treb gave up so easily)

Once I was unable to sustain gainful employment (aka "mandatory retirement), I put my time to good use by volunteering where I can and writing. That's MY skill. I write press releases for nonprofits, Op-Eds for the local paper, and books. I'm currently working on my 5th book: a semi-autobiography about life on my Navy ship in the 1980s. I changed the names to protect the guilty and (since I'm not sure the statute of limitations has run out on everything) am writing it as a work of fiction no one is supposed to believe. Should be a fun ride.

Things that have grinded the daughter's gears. #1 her grandpa not having her Starbucks and Popeyes waiting for her when she arrived in New Orleans last month for a visit
#2 last week me waking her up to get ready for school. The daughter " ah my amigo, I love you my amigo, pause my amigo your starting to annoying me "🤣

My father n law lost out on hundreds, if not thousands in retirement benefits because early in his military career he got selected for special "Advisory assignment" which lasted several years and was classified, which effected his military career the rest of his time in the service.
Something like twenty-five years after his retirement he was looking at getting back close to over $20,000 in back pay when part of the classified stuff was unclassified. It was the classified stuff that made him walk away.

Why does it always said on phone link, I need to have the default instead of textra to make it link up though?
I just do not want to see previous text messaging at all when I start messenger plus, spam keeps popping up every single three hours.
Seriously, make other apps link up with third party apps.

Walmart Rx,
Well I phoned in just barely underneath a sennister,
and I eventually broke down and downloaded the app to check in when my rx is going to take.
I am glad it is only my thyroid medication..

Found this interesting fact about the 14 year old Georgia shooter:

The 14-year-old student suspect, Colt Gray, was investigated last year for making threats to carry out a school shooting.
Georgia high school shooting suspect was investigated in 2023 for online threats, authorities say

This should have kept him out of school until there was a psychological examination.

He used an AR rifle, and they still don't know how he obtained it.

The 14 year old Georgia shooter just had his first hearing. The Judge told him the penalty for his murder charges included the death penalty.

I thought the Supreme Court ruled many years ago ruled against the death penalty for a juvenile., and as I recall there was a 13 year old juvenile that was executed that raised the whole question of executing a juvenile.

ADDENDUM: The Judge just corrected himself and said the death penalty didn't apply in this murder case, due to the shooter being a juvenile.
