Not sure if I want to keep this job up, for one, it's far too American for my liking, and two, it really is like herding cats.

I usually teach middle and high school, and a friend suggested I try Pre-K as a part time job. I've done two classes so far with Best Learning, having second thoughts about it now.

I know that. :D

However at the moment I don't feel so comfortable being in something that's cross between, Disneyland, Sesame Street and Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood. I'll probably stick with it, the pay is good. The job definitely specifies people from US or Canada, and these places can actually reject UK, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand applications. But I think they're short staffed in Jinan, and I'm only part time, which is unusual for this type of USA training centre kindergarten.

Well I done another class today...second thoughts I've decided I do want to stay on with "Best Learning".

Even the My Little Pony videos seem OK after a while.

I inadvertently left my second-hand S4 going for 8 days on battery. I didn't actually touch it, it was on the table doing nothing, I forgot it was on, and only realised when it started beeping low-battery. This S4 has CM12.1, 5.11 Lollipop. I don't actually use it as my regular phone, was given to me a few months ago. Originally bought in Hong Kong, unlocked Asia version.

I was actually more referring to the fact that it tells me to go kill all my apps with the task manager :wtfdroid:
 
That's actually the reason I completely uninstalled Facebook. Without using something like "greenify", Facebook is going to simply restart itself... Every time you kill it... Which actually eats more battery because the cpu has to work to recache the app

Actually you shouldn't use Task Managers. The Android System does a more effective job of memory management.

How are your health checks done? Because for me it's usually just going from room to room, being x-rayed, ultrasounded, blood pressured, ECG'd, etc. I might find production line medicals annoying, but not stressful.

They have one room where they take your weight, some body measurements, & your BP. Then you go to another room & they take blood to send out for cholesterol testing & whatever else they're checking.

These screenings at work are tied to getting an incentive (they have tiers & points to be earned depending on your stats, & they company gives us some $$ in our HSA account based on what tier we fall into), & I think I stress myself out a little just thinking about whether or not I'll get the benefit, etc. It's just a hassle, & in regard to actual health, it's somewhat meaningless. I saw my regular Dr in August & they did all the same blood work & BP & I had no issues. But for this screening at work, that's irrelevant :rolleyes:

That's the sort of things they're really looking for, that not going to bring anything nasty into the country. On my main report it lists; typhoid, polio, diphtheria, scarlet fever, relapsing fever, ebola, dysentery, brucellosis, viral hepatitis, and meningitis. As well as "Do you have any mental disorders, such as bipolar disorders, that might endanger public order and security? YES or NO? But there's nothing about cholesterol testing from what I can see.

After spending 2 years in the Philippines, I had to go get a check for Tuberculosis before coming home. This involved having my chest x-rayed. I went in and the machine they used looked ancient as anything I've ever seen. It was even propped up in one corner by a rock where a leg had been broken. I don't know if you're supposed to get a lead apron for a chest x-ray, but I know I didn't get one.

My lungs did not even show up on the x-ray, but the doctor cleared me and I came home fine. Haven't died of TB yet.
 
I've never been given a lead apron for any chest x-rays I've had in China, and the Siemens x-ray machine itself is modern and computerised, and no waiting for a film to be developed. But the x-ray operator is sat in another room behind all the lead screening of course. I was rather surprised to be abdomen ultrasound scanned the first time, because I always though that was only used for pregnant women, to check the unborn baby. I did notice that much of the electronic medical equipment did come from European manufacturers, like Siemens and Philips, rather than Chinese. For tourist visas coming into China, that might not require a medical depending on the country, anything else like work visas do.

Another thing, AFAIK for any Chinese to get visas for US, Canada, UK and other EU countries, they have to have the same medical and certification from the Exit-Entry Inspection and Quarantine Bureau of PRC.
