Completely agree. Pretty much all smart phones have the battery "Issue". To rate one device down for something we should all take as a given is wrong.
I agree with that. When I first got a smartphone (iPhone 3G), I was disappointed with the battery life, until I realized that with the big screen and extra features and power, I can't expect the phone to last days like a dumbphone. Reviews confirmed my experiences and that's the way it is for most smartphones. So when I got the Desire and found the battery to be similar to the iPhone, I wasn't at all disappointed. I'm quite happy with the Desire.
:)

i gave 9/10. my first smart fone, and i am laughing at all my sheep friends with their iphones. they really dont understand the level of customization and the apple jail cell they are locked in.

Would've given 10/10 but i reckon some of the settings are too fiddly and you can get lost with apps n widgets clashing with each other. My battery is fine, I mean, you wouldnt expect a laptop to last all day with 3G rockin, widgets 'widging' and phones callin' would you?

THE WORST THING, WHICH I CONCEDE TO APPLE, IS HAVING TO PRESS THE POWER BUTTON BEFORE UNLOCKING SCREEN!! GRRR. Why cant we press the middle or home button or something.

The WidgetLocker app allows you to change it from the power button to something else

I voted 10/10 because although I had a couple of minor niggles when I first got the phone and was playing with it constantly, now that I'm using it as a smartphone rather than a toy it does everything I want it to do :)

I'm not saying I hate my desire or anything. just that it
didn't wow me as much as I hoped. but then iPhone 4
just bored me :-D

cheers

For me:
-0.5 :The battery life, which the way I use it, with charging overnight, is rarely an issue
-1.0 :The internal storage, which since 2.2 and apps2sd has been less of a concern, but I would still love to fill it with even more apps...

That's 8.5, but since I can't give 1/2 marks, and since it's my first ever smartphone and I think it's fantastic, it's a 9 from me...

Gotta give it an 8 for the same reason as everyone else has; memory. It bugs me that I see older devices with even as little as 200mb to start you with while this only gives you 120 at the most.

Now rooted and flashed LeeDroid ROM with A2SD+, so about 650mb internal storage in total. It's a shame people have to go through this process to get a useful amount of storage, especially when you hear about the next gen phones and tablets having between 500mb to several Gb of storage!
