It's going to be a combination of that plus whatever your sensor really has.

There's no telling how much of that in my shot is coming from either dcraw or me making a guess at what the color balance is and then trying to bring out a picture.

Plus - I'm still learning how to spell dcraw.

I think I need to adjust some of the dcraw parameters for direct sunlight shots. I'll start to play around with zeroing in on the -r values.

I'll take a few shots of a piece of white printer paper in different lighting to see what I get.

OK, those gamma adjustments were just for your dog lol - I liked the contrast. It was less realistic, more dramatic.

I'm going to try white printer paper (and matte photo paper) on the theory that that's what I'm printing to.

You may need to add a matte color or black object atop the paper for a percentage of the picture.

I'm not sure, but I seem to recall dcraw sites saying that it will colorize pure white in an attempt to find the image.

I'm going to try it both ways.

Then, do the draws with -a and extract the numbers.

Once you have those, use with -r and so far as I know right now, drop off the -a.

It did give the puppy photo a great effect. I added the -H highlight modifier to a photo that didn't need it. Brilliant!

100% you the man! I wasn't aware those outputs in dcraw were the actual values calculated. I assumed they were defaults.

Ok, piece of white printer paper on a grey desk. Fluorescent overhead lights and a wide open window 2' to the right:

Right there are my multipliers for -r!

Going to print a black square on the same paper and redo the process.

Remember to do sunlight when you can, fluorescent lights are really colored.

I'll try and get a straight up sunlight shot tomorrow. We're seeing thunderstorms here in the Burgh for the rest of the evening.

That one there is a blend. Maybe get a straight up sunlight and straight up fluorescent. Have 3 different values for different scenarios.

OK, looks like Jishnu left XDA for some reason. All of his camera links have been removed.

I did a little digging and I found him on G+. He's released a new version for compatibility with the 4.4.3 roms. Jishnu's Camera Mod™

I'm going to load up Viper 2.3.0 today and see how the new version works.

Question EM, have you tried the freedcam.apk with lollipop?

I assume it's a no go, but haven't tried it. I need to find a few hours to get a backup made before trying this. Also need to try Jishnu's latest on Viper. I read it's a little jacked, but you know....I need to break stuff on my own.
