RC9 Update recieved 3am this morning in the UK

So it would seem google r doin the update then tmobile r tinkering with the update!!! The plot thickens come on tmobile uk if you r reading these forums let's have a reason or is it screw the uk customer????:eek:
 
I'm still waiting for my update...

But I'm being stubborn and waiting to get it OTA...

Besides it doesn't seem much worth to the update...so I'm happy with leaving it as it is to be honest...

Lol...my phone's always on....never turn it off unless it runs out of battery without me realising...

But like I said...it's not that big a deal of an update...so I'll live without it...

With regards to missing features etc and a few disappointments. Do I expect a reply? no not really but as I cannot find any other way of voicing my displeasure at not being able to communicate my feelings on the lack of explanations for features being missing then this is the only option I could find at the moment. I have been polite as I see no point in ranting but I have laid out all my feeling regarding the updates etc I am currently pondering whether to also send a letter to T Mobile.

If I get a reply I will update, if any others want to follow suite then the address is there.
 
The update also seems to have changed Google Maps to work out directions in KM, instead of miles

I cant find a away to alter it, and nither can T-Mo tech support

I hate KM !!!

Good for you SK maybe we should all do that then maybe they'll get the message! l doubt it very much though!!
Maybe we should petition T-mobile uk ,at least to issue a statement ,if nothing else to let us know why!!
Also what about some phone support on the website, why should we keep having to go on the us website???????

I agree Empty66, we should petition T Mobile also. all I want is an answer as to why T Mobile Worldwide are ok with it apart from T Mobile UK it can't be privacy or ROFL Terror Laws (Believe it or not that was suggested to me on twitter) otherwise T Mobile in the US would have blocked it also.

Straight answers is all I want but I think on this occasion I won't hold my breath but will continue to be a pain in the ass with them.
 
Ive got the same screen as MzBlack :D:D- i got mine yesterday and still getting free update does anybody know what the sim toolkit is for and is it free???

i tried linking my linking my latitude to my laptop, now have lost the option to use latitude. i have still got maps V.3 and tried a factory reset. any ideas? ive been waiting 4 this 4 ages now f***ed
 
I finally got it!!!! XD
My patience paid off!
Funny enough....it popped up as soon as my phone died and I charged it up and turned it back on...and went to Device Info.

I'll report back after I've had a little play around...
 
Ok...had a quick play around...

First things first....

I have latitude....I just have no friends to try it out with...lol...so for now I've turned it off...

The rest is just the same as everyone else...
Check For Updates, SIM Toolkit (Even though it crashes when I try to open it up..) etc.
 
Oh...and i dont know if this happened in rc8...

But now i actually get alerted when i receive an email on my hotmail account...

it's nothing to get all excited about.. just a link to some features that is on your SIM card .. e.g. in my SIM toolkit there is an option to get the bill for the current month displayed, but this is also possible without the toolkit, if I just text "Sal" to my operator.. so don't bother.. :cool:

were you able to completely turn it off? If I choose the option "Turn of Latitude" the screen keeps saying "Saving your selection..", and if I hit the back-button (after several minutes), and reenter the settings, the latitude is only "hiding my location".. :confused:

bummer..

EDIT:

I opened Maps, and there was the "Join Latitude" button again, so I agreed the terms etc. and now I was able to turn Latitude of :D

Yep...I can turn mine on and off willingly....

Did you try restarting the phone? It could just be that it needs a fresh start...

I have tried that, but all of a sudden I was able to join latitude again, for some odd reason, and it fixed my problem.. thx Google
 
I recieved my rc9 update last night via OTA in Denmark on an unlocked phone :)

No problems with latitude at all btw
 
If we forget about latitude for the time ... I kind of like that T-Mobile has made it so easy not to chose them the next time I have to chose a phone.

Has anyone heard anything about when they turn on paid applications?
What was the time between the US update and when they turned it on?

Turned on?

You mean you are not allowed to publish paid applications yet? O.o
 
No I mean that paid applications arn't visible yet in the listings.

We ( in the UK) can filter "to show only paid apps" but the list is empty.

So I guess that when T-mobile / or Google are happy that the update has rolled out, they will start to show the paid apps.

Therefore....you are not allowed to publish paid apps yet....
