Root RE: Bootups animation

I recently created a splash screen, but now have no startup sound. I have no problem with that on the splash screen.
But if I create boot animation with sound, will the sound file overlap onto the spalsh screen thereby causing me to need to make the animation sound file longer so that it will synch with the animation...?

In other words is the splash screen and the boot animation screen two separate entities and the sound will only start when the boot animation file is run. Or is the sound file attached to the splash screen and runns till boot animation ends?

The splash screen and the boot animation are completely separate. The splash screen operates outside of the current ROM, and will not change even if you switch ROMs. The boot animation, and sound file if there is one, are part of the current ROM, and, I'm sure as you know, reside in /system/customize/resource. The sound file that plays with the boot animation will start at the exact same time as the boot animation starts. There is no sound with splash screens. To add sound to the boot animation, add an MP3 named SPC_animation_final.mp3 to /system/customize/resource/

Completed the sound file. Now I need a reliable .scr to .wmf or jpeg conversion program.
Does anyone know of one that will definately do the job?

OK I got the animation I want, but want to edit it. Anoyne know of a "good" free shareware video editing software that can edit frame by frame, that I can use?

keep us posted...I haven't messed with this at all.

have you tried ifranview, gimp or paint.net ? photoshop?

haven't tried them...just throwing some out there.

update.... I used photoshop (CS no less) and I completed the animation. Its saved as a psd and an optimized GIF (I n retrospect mabey I should have created just one "gigantic" file).
It was a total of 19 animated GIFs. I used windows moviemaker to put the clips together, and created a sound file (the track still has to be added).
what is the proper format i.e. avi, gif, jpeg, png for the animation files and is it possible to stitch psd or gifs together?
