Root Really Random Question.

Okay, heres a REALLY random question, when i was running Icarus 1.1 my girlfriend had an app that she really enjoyed and i cant seem to find it anywhere in the market. I have my backup from CWM on my desktop and i was wondering if theres anyway to pull a .apk from it without actually re-flashing my phone?

I heard of a pc android os emulator of sorts awhile back and wasnt sure if anyone had anyway of using this to run cwm recoveries or get .apk files.

As a heads up i am very tech savvy just fairly new to android and im willing to try anything .

Any and all suggestions are greatly appreciated.

def could do it with Appkik with your backup installed. On the emulator I dunno, would think you should be able to install it in it, but I dunno for sure lol.

I played with the emulator in the sdk/android tools, but it was just trying to learn to create apps. I, ummm put that off until I learn java lol

hmmmm i havnt played with the emulator myself yet but depending on how it runs you may be able to set it up through say VB and flash CWM onto it.

Like using VB as the phone that way its all contained into its own subsystem as sorts.

Any possibility of something like that happaning?

Don't really know. But just my 2 cents. Have you tried searching google for it? like appname.apk? I have had to do that once. I actually found it. Just a thought to make it a little easier for ya. or whats the app name?

Ive tried google but the problem with that is in the app draw it was PT and when on a home page it was Period Tracker, keep in my mind the app was for my girlfriend.

When i look in the market and on google i dont get that exact app, i get ones that do the same thing but her being as picky as she is she doesnt want them she wants this specific one. When i created a backup through the app so that i could restore all of her data it made a folder labaled Period Tracker.

You may be able to recover it via Titanium Backup...I cant be sure though. Titbu is the best way to backup your apps+data in my opinion. Good luck.
