Reboot Loop! Help a NOOB out!

Ok, so I've had an SII for over a year now and I've kept it on stock android. Today I decided to root. I got that far and then decided to install cyanogenmod(10.1 or 10). Well I installed 10.1 and I'm stuck on a boot loop.

Can anyone please help. What do I do? This is my daily phone and I can't have it like this. I've tried googling but they all give different advice. Can anyone PLEASE give me simple advice on what to do. A million thanks.

I didn't flash google apps after flashing Cyanogenmod. Could this be it? If it is, which gapps do I download for my phone with Cyanogenmod 10.1 nightly??

Yes I did! I did a complete erase:

And following that I just flashed 10.1 and the google apps and it worked!
I believe it was the "nightly" version. That means it isn't the final version right?

The battery life if horrible though. Drained 50% with data off in ~6 hours. Is this normal at all?

The Apollo music app also crashes sometimes, but not too bad. As for the lockscreen widgets, can you add multiple widgets on one lockscreen page? It seems to not let me, just make multiple pages of 1 widget.

Yeah the nightly is just a version that comes out every night or so.

No the battery use seems high but I guess it depends on what your doing. And no, I don't think you can add more than one widget. I haven't played with the lockscreen much. If there's a way to add more I'm not sure what it is.

You may want to think about reading the root & ROM sticky at the top of the page. It sounds like your using the old cwm recovery. I'd recommend a newer recovery like TWRP. You won't need the darkside files anymore.

I'm using CWM-based Recovery x5.0.2.6. Does this TWRP have anything extra that the one I'm using doesn't?

To upgrade the Cyanogenmod to the latest nightly, what exactly do I do? Just place it on my SD care and flash it through the recovery? Will it delete everything again?

I see people use Titanium Backup. Does this back everything up to the SD card (it backs it up to the SD because the SD card is never affected right?)? Would that just take up GBs and GBs of space that you can't use?

Lots of questions, but I appreciate the quick response.

TWRP is faster and does a better job of wiping. Its also a lot easier to use. To install TWRP you can download GooManager from the play store. Open it and tap your menu button and then select 'install open recovery script'. Or you can use the guide sticky. http://androidforums.com/galaxy-s2-t-mobile-all-things-root/627099-guide-root-rom-sgh-t989.html

You can install the nightly that way yes, but you only need to wipe cache partition and dalvik cache. Doing that way will not delete everything. You can also go to settings > about phone > and set up cyanogenmod updates. It will download new nightlies and then you just tap it. It will automatically reboot to recovery, wipe the caches and install the nightly. That won't work on the old recovery you are using though.

Titanium will back up your apps and their data. Highly recommended. How much room it takes depends on how many apps you have. I have about 70 and it takes about 287 meg.
