as a long time bb user there are some things that may be obvious for the seasoned android user but not for me...

like when i was researching the battery drain issue with the native sms app they say to reboot your phone. "reboot" to me as a bb user is a battery pull but i think holding the end call button and pressing power off is actually a android reboot, no battery pull required.

You are right. This is the terms I use.

a Reset (Restart) is turning your phone off, and back on.
a Reboot (Restart) is the phone automatically turning your phone off and back on.
a Hard Reset (Hard Boot) is completely clearing all your information off your phone.

A lot of people use the Reset, Reboot and Power interchangeably. You just need to be specific on which one you are talking about.

I don't think anyone has really defined what each means. My Eris didn't come with a Manual, of course. So am just going from memory.
