Recognizing Words - Desire Z

Arush

Lurker
This phone is really starting to get on my nerves
Anything that involves typing words, completely fails

This phone does not recognize pretty much any words, including very common words

How can i get my phone to know/recognize most english words.

Thanks

This may not be the right answer you're looking for, but I stopped using predictive text a long time ago. For me, it's more of a nuance and can be counter-productive most of the time. Maybe you should try using the phone with the feature turned off.

Can you give us examples of words it doesn't recognise.

TBH I've hated predictive text on every phone in the past, but I keep it on on my Desire Z because it it so intuitive and easy to use.

Maybe yours has a different dictionary?

The predictive text takes some getting used to. I was really annoyed when it would not recognise abbreviation I use like "tix" instead of "tickets". After a while, I got used to it and find it is rather handy and outweighs some of the annoyances.

Perhaps your language setting is wrong.

I've thought about taking off prediction, i will if i cannot find any solutions.
words like "sleep" and "bottom" i had to add myself.
Htc fails

It must be peculiar to your handset, as both those examples pop up as suggestions for me using both hardware and software keyboards. Neither are in my user dictionary which means I haven't added them myself.
