Accessories Recommend a Good Battery and Cover?

Huh, I'm surprised all of you have noticed a drop in performance. I've noticed a gain to be honest. I downloaded "Battery Left Widget" from the market and while it's calibrating I'm having my best results yet. My phone has been on for 2d 7h 38m and I still have 25% left. The widget is predicting I still have 18h 22m before the phone dies which would be well over 3 days between charges.

Very seriously considering grabbing one of these - with my Seidio 1750, Battery Left is saying I have 9:36 on a charge. Part of this is because I used my phone really heavily the last couple days, but it should be able to handle a 3:00pm-1:00am cycle with heavy camera, 15 minutes of gps, half an hour of web and music playing without decreasing to 4%.

I thought it was just my imagination, but I notice that after that last update, battery life is has decreased.

I have noticed that after this latest update, that the battery is charging quicker though. From 42% to 100% in less than an hour. So maybe the update helped?

Yes, one of the things included with the latest OTA was a kernel to speed up the charging time. I've noticed I can go from under 10% to full (with phone off) in about 2.5-3 hours. With the phone on it's even quicker but this 1800 htc express battery takes forever to bump charger (sometimes close to an hour for me ) but it's well worth it considering I last charged my phone Friday overnight and I'm still at 30% :D

I was actually coming here to mention that.. bump charging on this battery makes a HUGE difference, but ye, it does take a while. I am having horrible battery life on my new Desire Z rom, but i know that is the rom itself.

has anyone else tried those ebay deals for 2x 1500mAh batteries w/wall charger for $9-$10? I bought a pair of these just for the hell of it thinking it was no big deal if they were a total bust but they're going strong. Beating the hell out of my OEM 1300. I'm a moderate user, but I get about 24+ on a charge, 4-5hrs awake. Each battery has been fully cycled at least half-dozen times now, no change yet.

The batteries are black and say "HTC INNOVATION" on them.

Am I missing something? Are they somehow going to ruin my phone?

received this battery yesterday.

- it made my sd card unrecognizable. Plugged in old battery, phone still doesn't recognize it.

- battery is not showing any improvement in usage time, or standby time it appears to be exactly the same if not noticeably worse.

+ fits within the case, does require a bit of tug and pull

+ as mentioned before the minimal weight it does add is just enough to make the phone feel more robust.

conclusion: full night charge, 7 hours in, only text messages, no refresh, location off, brightness set second to lowest setting, already at 47%

DISPLEASED.. hopefully it will improve...

That's strange. I've never seen or heard anyone using this battery have the SD card issue or the rapid decrease in battery life. I'm still having amazing results from this thing. Just curious, did you charge the battery before using?

I got my 1800 battery from ChiChiTek (HTC express) also a few days ago and notice a nice improvement over the stock battery. I also ordered a 2600 one off Ebay for $10 but will stick with the 1800 as I can still use my Rugged Sedio cover and holster. If could find a decent holster that would work with the 2600 battery I might switch but very happy with the 1800 so far.

I received mine today. It barely fits under the back cover - good thing I have a case or I'd be worried the back would pop off.

Initially I'm not exactly impressed... I charged it up and once it turned green, I unplugged it. I've had it unplugged sitting on the desk for half an hour and it's already at 94%. Awake time is 3 minutes.

I'll let it fully discharge and recharge and we'll go from there. Haha, I'm hoping this is half as good as you say it is, WormDoes...

94 is probably about right if you didnt have the phone off when charging

yea i had same issue. i charged it used it today. just let it drain to zero and it recharged to 100% in just a little over an hour. we'll see how long this next fresh charge lasts.

Considering this 1800 over my current RHOD160 1500. Is it much of a difference? Seems like my battery dies faster after attempting the Nov. update. May be because I'm rooted and it's not allowing the update to pass through - hence the random prompts.

So how do you get the best charge on a battery? Should I turn the phone off at night, or would you recommend taking the battery out and charging it with the wall charger? On HTC Express, now the battery is $19.99 or $27.99 with the wall charger. I am just thinking of leaving the battery in the phone. Thank you for this thread. I am in the market for a new battery and this sounds like exactly what I need.

I charge my phone with the battery in and shut off. The only reason I keep it shut off is this battery takes a long time to bump charge (over an hour) so it's just easier for me to wake up fully charged and bumped

Well, I just ordered the 1800 from HTC Express. Hopefully I will enjoy your same success with battery life. I didn't want to add a huge battery but wanted something more than stock. Plus, I wanted to keep my original back plate. Now maybe I will be able to turn up the brightness of the screen and enjoy the AMOLED screen. Thanks again!!

I have been considering getting the seidio 1750 but its like $40 on amazon which is a little pricey. Does anyone know how this compares? And is the 1800 worth it? I want to make sure the original back plate fits and the 1800 has more battery life than the stock battery.

I'm copying this from a post of mine in this thread:

I've had the HTC 1500 since mid-June. I still use it and it seems as good as ever.... But I didn't see much of an increase over the stock with it. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad I spent the $15 for it and I still use it, but only as a backup for the 1800 I got from HTCExpress.

I saw much more of an increase with the 1800 over the 1500 than I did with the 1500 over the stock.

I ordered an 1800 from HTCExpress in white (for easy identification: red = stock; black = 1500; white = 1800) at the end of October and am still loving it. I'm now kicking myself for not ordering 2 back at that time since they were only $15/each when I ordered. I'll probably go ahead and buy a second one anyway.

I order this battery Amazon.com: HTC Droid Incredible Li-ion Polymer Replacement Battery (2500 mAh) w/ Battery Door: Cell Phones & Accessories
From amazon (orion gadgets) for a total of about 20.00 shipped. The battery is about 2x the size of the original and it came with a new cover. I took it out of the package, put it in the phone and it had 82% charge. The cover seems to fit nicely and has the same texture feel as the original. I will let it charge to full and reboot the phone and see what kind of numbers i get.

I just got the 1800 battery in red x2 with charger and couldn't be any happier.
My battery lasts long.. I had it at 76 percent before I flash a different rom on time was about 25 hours up time was 7 or 8 hours.
I had a bbq, music playing from pandora for about 3 hours texting, calling ppl... trying to drain it and when I cam home it was still good..
I was like wow..
and it's funny though cause I have an extra battery that I prolly didn't need but oh well good to have extra..
I've milked the stock battery and it gave me a good 11 hours with about the same use as the bbq day.
The 1800 is what the droid should have came with.

I have the Seidio 1750, but for the money I would just go for the 1800 on eBay. The 1750 had better battery life than the stock, but it wasn't a dramatic difference, and probably not worth what I paid for it compared to the ebay deal.

On a side note, and I realize I'll catch hell for posting this, but I have the Seidio 3500 and (other than the price) I couldn't be happier. 70-80 hours per charge with moderate use :D

EDIT: posting results from earlier this evening with the 3500 seidio:

I would definitely recommend this over the Seidio 1750. It at least matches the performance of that battery. The only advantage the Seidio has is that it takes less time to bump charge. However, i think the life is a little better on the 1800.

I'm looking into getting a 3500/2150 just so I can stop worrying about battery once and for all.

My stats for today (running sr3.5 with pretty aggressive setcpu):
about 17 hours uptime
27% left
3.5 hours awake

Here's tuesday, with more usage:
16h 20m uptime
4h 51m awake time
2h 1m screen on (about two hours of pandora streaming)
9% battery remaining now
usage also included 15 minutes of navigation and two hours of leaving the wifi on without a network to connect to. not bad.

I'm impressed, but I've never really tried to kill it. I want a battery taht I can try to kill and not be able to - looks like I might end up with a 2150 or 3500 eventually, but for now, this is great. Best you can do with the stock back.

I just got a couple of these batteries and I'm testing them now. But the bottom of my case doesn't fit snugly. It fits, but the corner has a little "give". Anyone else notice this?
