Root recovery application..

Im sure this has been answered but i can't find anything about recovery....can we use CWM recovery? i see 2nd init and it says mod recovery not sure what this is.....what do i use for recovery?
 
It's in the 2nd-init. That's why there are 2 buttons when you open it up. Hit the top button that says "2nd-init Recovery", wait for it to finish (5-10 secs) then hit "Reboot Recovery".

Another note, your phone probably won't show CWM when you do this. It might flash on the screen, but it will probably just stay on the LG logo. DON'T PANIC. Just tap volume up or down a few times, and it will show CWM. It's just a weird visual bug that doesn't do any harm.
 
What 2nd-init does is hijack the init process during boot. On stock, it just hijacks it to load a cwm ramdisk (everything in the boot.img minus the kernel) into memory. On CM it hijacks it to load a tar with our mix of custom & stock inits along with cwm. ;)

Ok so being i'm used to lg esteem...will this load the same as the CWM on the esteem i mean will the ui be the same? and can some onr post a link for the guide step by step this one seems to be a little on the hard side as i tried this before and installed CWM and ran it to install the 2nd init but as i did it the phone bricked and i don't wanna do it all over again.


NM found it a few post up....ok now any good roms for this model that this forum uses with no issues?

CWM does use the same UI, though you can use the back soft button on your Motion.
