Root recovery problem

Can you get to recovery or do you get stuck before you get there? You do have s-off still correct? What recovery do/did you have?
 
using clockworkmod recovery, it says i've made an nan. but when i try to instal new rom it just sits in the white htc evo screen
 
when you go to hboot do you have s-off? are you doing everything from recovery or are you using rom manager? what rom are you trying to flash? some files will not work with clockworkmod 3 and up. some files may not work with clockworkmod 3.x.x. i would suggest you switch to clockworkmod 2.6 or amon ra (my recommendation). you can get them in ref#1 of my sig.
 
ok so did you wipe data, cache, and dalvik cache? try that and see if you can't get it to flash. also were you able to make a nandroid?
