Root Recovery Question

Alright guys, so about 2 months ago my charger port broke, fried, and is no longer usable. So what I did was I went to Amazon.com and bought myself that 1500 mAh anker battery as well as the powergen universal external battery charger. That's how I charge my batteries just in case any of you were wondering and it works perfectly and holds more charge than before. But anyways, my issue is that I've been running rukins TWRP recovery and I was wondering if I could flash those flashable CWM recoveries or b randons updated TWRP recovery through my current recovery. I can't go through the download mode process and flash a recovery that way because of my port, so can I flash flashable CWM recovery zips through TWRP or do those zips only work with CWM only?
 
Yes, the recoveries are flashable by whichever custom recovery you are using... I had to flash back and forth a few times to get my backups on the correct format.
