[Recovery] Twrp v3 for Zte Zmax Pro

Status
Not open for further replies.
Well spend yesterday morning... Trying to push the recovery img with that dfu tool n did not work. Will do sum mor later tonight

If someone makes a flashable zip of the twrp i can sideload it and see if it flashes. I tried sideloading the img and get a error code.

I've had a ZMax Pro for a little over a month. And I need to use this phone as a USB tether via my home WiFi. My old S3 did it fine with Easy Tether Pro. I do not want to use my data, but my wireless router at home and plug it into my PC and use my phone as an adapter type via USB. Are there any apps to do this? I've tried a few and failed. If this phone could root that wouldn't be a problem...

There's a solution in this same sub forum.

Has anybody thought about the ftm mode
There isn't really any advantage to using ftm mode. All it is good for is adb shell and as far as I know it doesn't give you any additional privileges that can't be gotten while booted into android normally.
Edit: m*th*rf*ck*ng auto correct

Yes like @Materchief87 said FTM ist only to test display, touch, sound, AGPS, wifi, Bluetooth... Nothing with editing or tweaking system.

Fastboot still disabled. ADB Sideload may work if you try to push the new recovery that way. But again, no idea if it will work. ** The command didn't work. Upon reboot the ZTE splashscreen doesn't have any text talking about security.
It won't have security info, just disables RO to RW. Try this:
- unlock oem
- enter terminal cmd
- upon reboot, run KR app

..see what happens

Ok I'm going to create a group of testers on hangouts like what i did with the stylo 2 plus , requirements to join the group:
-have zmax pro in hands
-A good general knowledge of android
-have time for testing and debugging
-your device maybe get bricked too so be ready for everything...
If u are intersted send me a pm on hangouts.

so i made some tests today on a member's phone , this is our way to test with
http://forum.xda-developers.com/axon-7/development/wip-axon-7-root-bootloader-unlokced-t3441204
edl mode is a replacement for fastboot mode on qcom phones , everytime i tried to dump the boot/recovery images or to flash the recovery using the method in the above thread i got [image load failed error status 1/9] i need all to test the above method and report the results here
notice: delete the axon 7 boot/recovery images and replace it by my twrp recovery.img before testing , good luck

Doesn't work here. "Image load failed with status: 1" when trying to flash it.

I think the problem is that the partitions are not mounting right... We may have similar devices with similar conf. But i believe that the device tree its not same.

Maybe It's Time To Step Back For A Day Or Two..
I'm sure by years end a delivery system for TWRP will manifest itself.. the lock will get broken.. :) The Zmax Pro is still a fantastic device for the price and I for one, am still 110%. happy with it.. for those that have not tried it.. just set Window, Transition and Animator to .5 and use Nova Prime setting it's animation to "Faster Than Light".. it will hold you until the root vault is cracked.. ;)

??? Any help with tethering undetected?

Notice : sorry but don't get so excited as we still don't have a method to flash it but we are working hard to find one at the below thread , we are currently at about 60 percent to obtain root on this device ;)

Also I'm not responsible for any bricked devices.

Warning: you must enable oem unlock in the developer options before trying to flash or test the recovery.
