What recovery would you guys recommend for someone who flashes ROMs a lot.

4 ext

4 ext

A lot of DEVS reccomend flashing thing seperatley. I could go either way. But I tend to flash things seperatley4Ext, though I wish 4Ext had multiple selection like twrp. So you wouldnt have to look for ROM, flash, look for gapps, flash, instead you could select all your desired zips at the same moment.
Just wanted to make sure that you are aware that multiple zip files and other actions like clearing cache+dalvik can be "stacked" if you set up those actions in the app instead of doing everything in recovery.4Ext, though I wish 4Ext had multiple selection like twrp. There was never a non-touch version of 4EXT for the Evo 3D/V but that's a good suggestion and Max (madmaxx82 on XDA) is still working on the next generation to support other features and devices. It would be nice to have the option to use the hardware keys even if it meant having to activate them with a combination like Power+VolumeDown so you might consider posting that suggestion in his Evo 3D thread on XDA or sending him a PM./thread
I've noticed that there is a touchscreen, and non-touchscreen version of 4EXT on the market. What about a version that supports both? I know it's a long shot, but I can forsee a situation where someone's digitizer either stops working, or part of it stops working. It would sure be nice if the volume rocker would allow for up/down movement, and the pwr button could select. If it already does this, then I apologize. I recall testing this many weeks ago, and it didn't work...so hopefully, my memory isn't off![]()

I just checked the settings in both the app and the recovery itself and couldn't find anything related to using the hardware buttons. Perhaps that was in TWRP2 touch recovery?I thought I saw something about choosing touchscreen or not during install. It's been over a month now probably, so I can't be certain. I am not on XDA, so perhaps you can suggest it to him?![]()

only takes a minute4ext! Especially if you are s-on
Well if you simply couldn't touch the screen anymore in the recovery you could just flash a different recoveryonly takes a minute
No, but CWM Recovery is and there are non-touch versions of that.If this does happen to me, and I need a new recovery, is TWRP fully compatible with 4EXT backups?
If you switch recoveries and the backups aren't compatible you can boot the old version without flashing it by using the following fastboot command:on edit: having all these backups, including Titanium Backup, do hog the SD card, especially having only 8GB, but I just move those rarely needed backups to the computer
Then you only need to keep the recovery file around instead of duplicate backups. The current 4EXT backups include the recovery.img by default when started from recovery so you can always use that copy if necessary.fastboot boot recovery.img (where "recovery.img" is the file name of your old recovery)
I don't play much around with recoveries and such, I guess any of those great recoveries would fill my needs, but the reason I ended up with 4EXT is that for now, I am keeping my phone S-ON, and I believe I needed 4EXT to flash Harmonia with S-ON. The brief moment I had TWRP (both v1 and v2) I did like it though.
Speaking of TWRP, it was just updated to version 2.4.2.0.Used TWRP as long as I can remember
