Not going to mess with replacing the black rockers with the red ones. From what I can tell, that would require removing the 4 screws at the corners of the phone and some disasembly (could be wrong though) and I'm not ready to void my warranty just yet. Plus I think I'll like the red/black contrast.

Quoting my own post. Turns out the package I got (signed receipt) was actually a tax bill from the state and not my back cover, so I'm still waiting. It's coming from overseas and says in the receipt I got it could take 10-15 days, so I am patiently waiting.

And in case you're wondering, yes I did pay my taxes. :) I owed $470 in state taxes, mailed in the check on the deadline and forgot about it. Picked up the bill the other day from the post office and it's for $445. I'm like what the h*ll? Called and it turns out they mistakenly cashed my original check for $47 dollars and not for the correct amount of $470 (idiots). So the bill was the remaining amount + interest and late fees. Real nice. So I had to write a letter (explaining their mistake so they could deduct the fees etc.) along with a check for the remaining amount that I really owed. Ha /end rant
 
x0x, after reading your first post I was kicking myself for not having it sent to my work address. Then I read your second post, sorry bout the tax bill and as annoying for you I'm sure the situation is, it is a bit funny to read, I think only our State and Federal governments <disclaimer>this is a general comment and not politically motivated </disclaimer> could do something as stupid as the story that you tell.
 
Got the new red back cover yesterday and it's awesome. Red is about the same as one of those big red solo cups (there's not even a hint of orange so don't let the pic earlier in this thread fool you. This thing is a gorgeous deep RED).

Its a bit more stiff than the stock cover and unlike my stock cover doesn't sqeek at all. The back is smooth and shiny and doesn't have the soft touch that the stock one does so it's a little more slippery. The red mesh on the speakerphone cutout matches the mesh on the front earpiece perfectly. I noticed speakerphone performance is about the same with the new cover even though the cutout placement is different.

I left the red lens cover on (the silver one I got with the new cover actually has a small ding in it. I'll probably never use it, but going to email the seller and see if they can send me a new one, just so I have a backup).

Keeping the black buttons for now as well as they don't look bad and switching them out would involve taking the phone apart, which I'm not ready to do yet as it voids the warranty. May do it sometime down the road.

Overall, I'm very happy with it. Love the look and quality is top-notch.

It's the Nexus One pouch. It fits the Incredible perfectly though.

You can order one directly from HTC at 1-888-716-3594. They are $7.95 plus another $7.95 for shipping (fed ex ground).

If they hassle you and say you need to actually own a Nexus One to be able to place an order, just tell them you are ordering the pouch for a friend or relative who owns a Nexus One as a gift.

Hey xOx, if you're not planning on using the red buttons, would you be up for parting with them? I think the phone would look pretty slick with just the red buttons as well...

I may just get the case and play around with things, but the red accents on the buttons would be pretty cool.

I think I am going to hand onto the red buttons for now. I don't want to swap them in just yet (want to wait a bit before I pop open the phone and void my warranty). But would like to keep them around just in case I decide to switch. Sorry about that.

Yes, speaker quality is the same as with the stock cover as far as I could tell. I did a couple of test calls with it and I could hear fine and the person on the end could hear me fine as well. So no issues that I can tell.
 
You should no problem fitting this to any case that's made for the DInc. I got my red cover this Monday the 20th and with the exception of the speaker outlet, the cover is physically identical to the original cover. It fits my Body Glove case perfectly. It looks great in the case with bits of red peeking out.

Those look cool, but man, I wish someone would make a nice brushed aluminum battery cover. That would look so nice and would give the phone a nice high-end look.
 
I have tried twice just now to order this cover but both payment types have timed out. The first one was using Paypal and it went into my paypal account where I hit the button pay now and then it it just sat there spinning till I shut the screen down. I tried Credit Card and it went to the verisign with my bank page asking for the secure Passcode and then went to an error page. I logged onto the website account and it shows both attempts with No Payment. Anybody else had these issues?
