Help Red underlined words

I have words come up sometimes that are red underlined. I am sure it is because they are not words. But how can I add them as my words?
One is "Chipper" my son's nickname.
One common one is texted which is not a word.

I am able to click on the red underlined word, which brings up an Orange box with the same word in it. By clicking on the orange word, you will be adding it to the dictionary.

Mine just goes into edit mode for me to fix it? I try to tap it with my finger and it puts the little green marker so I can edit the word?

what app are you using? is this for email, texting, or on the web?

I can also add a word to my dictionary when I am typing the word. As you type the word Chipper, the suggested words will pop up. As soon as you are done typing the word Chipper, do not hit the space key, select the word Chipper that is in the bubble.

When I type Chipper, I get 3 options (Chipper, Chopper, Shipper). Once I click Chipper, it gets added to my dictionary.

I have those same options. I chose one and it still gives the red underline after!
